Tinnitus and Insomnia

I haven't had a single night of truly good sleep in over three years. (I use both alcohol and sleeping pills from time to time to fall asleep easier (never both at the same time obviously!), but that's not a 'good' sleep, it's just tricking/suppressing my body.)

T causes me to pass out from exhaustion, so no. I've never been so tired in my life, I don't have a single minute to relax, doesnt matter what I do. I used to fall asleep (prior to T) by being in a calm state. It's not like that anymore, more a pass out thing, I can barely hold my eyes open for the last 4 or 5 hours of the day. I think I'm asleep in about 10 seconds. Prior to T, yeah would lay awake thinking about stuff not able to switch my brain off, now T hits that switch way too early. I would rather fall asleep, enjoy drifting off relaxed in my thoughts for a while vs just shutting down.

When I first came down with T my hands were sweaty I would lay for hours and could not sleep so MD gave me RX for Ambien and for three monthes I took one half of the pill which nocked me out for 4 hours and then take the other half which would put me out till morning. After that I started falling a sleep watching TV and was able to sleep without the pills but used nature sounds to cover up and blend with my T which I still use and always will. I also take the lowest dose of xanax 0.25 three times a day just to take the edge off.
