Has any one tried pranayama?i came across a study done by Indian scientists showing effect of pranayama and brahmari pranayama (type of breathing technique )
I tried brahmari pranayama while back and if If I remember correctly it did reduce the loudness temporary .I am going to try again and see if I see any reduction .it does provide a very deep relaxation ..May be that helped T.

Hi, Sean,

I've tried the alternate nostril breathing (awhile back), but none of the other breathing techniques.

Here is a link to some pranayama breathing techniques to try:

Which ones of these have you tried?

I do pranayama on regular basis ..study talked about brahmari pranayama and there is one pranayama that's specially for ears . I think it's call karne bhedi pranayama .i am going to try these to technique and see if it helps .
I do Anulom - vilom , brashtrika and Kapal Bhatti-

I'll be interested to see if these techniques help with your tinnitus. Good luck, and please let us know if they really do work for you!

Karen - you can google brahmari pranayama and timnitus .
Scientist who was conducting study had good logic .Since brahmari gives vagus nerve stimulation ( parasympathetic response ) it might help with T.
There are other studies done in west where scientist have artificially try to Create relaxation response by stimulating vague nerves.
Btw I am a fan of pranayama so I could be bit biased -:)
