Guys, welcome. In this topic, I would like to touch on a very important issue.

Which, nevertheless, concerns more of the male part of the forum. I'm interested in how tinnitus affects your sex life / sex? Specifically, the duration of sexual intercourse and sensuality during the act?

Has not the time of sexual intercourse decreased for you, will not the orgasm come sooner, after the arrival of problems with noise in the ears? Are you still fully enjoying your sex life?

Personally, I began to get an orgasm much faster, and it worries me. This is despite the fact that I am taking SSRIs, which should increase the time of sexual intercourse.

Thank you. I hope for honest answers. The topic is very important.

Not only sex, everything, I mean everything that I loved to do came to a full halt in the first two months after the onset. Home theater (main hobby) sex, boxing, motorcycling, computers, movie theaters, weekend gathering with friends.... you name it. But after learning that my tinnitus was due to ETD I became fully relaxed, and as a result of that, the anxiety and depression started to fade paving the way for me to gradually restart what I used to do.

So, starting from month no. 3, it became smooth sailing again. My high pitched tinnitus became a hiss and most importantly it did not react to anything , I mean food, drinks or loud sound etc..

I had perfectly normal sex (I have a great partner and we usually used to have sex at least 3~4 times a week ) during the period I had tinnitus except the first two months (tinnitus lasted about 6 months) , no any kind of slow down or quick orgasm. It was perfectly normal.

In short, as far as sex concern, the tinnitus did not affect me at all. Thanks to my wife for understanding what I went through in the first 2 months. She supported me every way possible.

Excuse me, what was the cause of your tinnitus? ETD-what is it? That is, now your tinnitus has passed? Hearing loss based on the results of audiometry is not recorded?

Hello Ivan,

I understand your troubles, actually it never bothered me since I have T and H...

But I had only 2 very short relationships since then...

My actual problem is that I take an AD so it really doesn't help for the man body mechanism... :(

On onset I had no sex drive, no passion, just didn't care. After 9 months it's coming back. T never affected duration for me.

I would think gender is irrelevant in if tinnitus can have an effect in this area. I am guessing that the distinction you are making is because you are looking to compare your experience with other men?

A very interesting question; one which I cannot answer as I have had tinnitus my entire life so I have no "without tinnitus" experience to compare the "with tinnitus" experience against. But, again, an excellent question.

That's how I feel, my general interest in sexual activity has really diminished.....I don't have a partner, so luckily that is not a problem.

I hope it will come back sooner or later though.

I think in enough time it will come back

I was taking Pramipexole a dopamine agonist (to check its benefits on Tinnitus) and that greatly helps your sex drive if you're struggling. A more natural supplement called Levodopa or (L-DOPA) which also enacts on Dopamine helps.

Combine either of the above with Cilias and you won't have any issues :) Trust me..

Sex is generally something that distracts me very significantly from my tinnitus even when it's overall quite bothersome.

Same with me!

@TheDanishGirl, maybe what you need is a boyfriend to distract you from your T. I've been married for over 20 years and still very much in love with my husband. But sometimes I miss that feeling when meeting someone for the first time and those butterfly feelings you get when you are with them and you can't breathe. But anyway lol!!

If she screams loud, then invest in some nice ear plugs. If she wants to be seduced and wants to do role playing, then take them ear plugs out or else...you wont be able to hear what she wants....lol

Just a thought, but do you watch much pr0n? because that'll do your libido in, oldstyle!

It's difficult to quit, but the NOFAP community aren't wrong; a lot of the theory is sound.
Not as much as I used to lol. Just got turned down so much that my body basically said screw it, I'm done lol. @Exit, Viagra is awesome, makes me thick as a tree trunk from the blood flow lol, too bad it's ototoxic.

EDIT: no I'm not as thick as a tree lol.

Fapping is good for your health. Keep on fapping.
Lol no. Any health benefits associated with regular "fapping" are greatly exaggerated.

I'd say, if you're male and single, then yes, you're going to have to do it at some point; I don't think complete abstinence is a good thing. But going without for a couple of weeks to a month, at a time, is definitely no bad thing.

Anyway, if you're going to jerk yourself into oblivion, at least try to quit the porn. That stuff is no good for men, or our ability to react to stimulus (aka. perform).

More likely depression or any medications you're taking would be affecting your sex life. For myself it was actually when I was most free of tinnitus, because my head was focused on the activity versus the tinnitus. But if you're experiencing issues, examine what else changed including if it's just depression. (But beware of antidepressants because they very often do reduce sexual function as part of their side effects.)

Porn has never had any negative effect on my real life performance whatsoever. This is because you fap when you can't get any, it's like substitute sugar. You will always prefer the real thing.

Nothing like being touched by another human being.

Only negative thing I noticed when watching porn frequently is getting desensitized to images so you need harder core porn and then it might delve into fetish porn, perversion etc. So just be careful about that and tone it down.

All these studies are phoney.

I beg to differ. Regular fapping reduces prostate cancer by heaps according to latest research.

Real sex is always better hands down, but if you only need to fap once a month, you have a very low libido and possible health issue.

I fap once a week and get laid maybe once a month. Am I dying? :(
