I have had tinnitus for about 10 years and have learned to live with it.

Recently if I expose myself to any noise above 68 dB I get a neck tension headache and an increase in tinnitus noise. It lasts for a couple of days. I'm not sure if it's from the noise or from stress.

I have read that everything should be ok if you don't expose yourself to sound levels above 72 dB. Is this correct?

Only a suggestion. There are many things you can do proactively to prevent a stiff neck if you don't have a vertebra issue.

Yoga, stretching... neck specific stretches... many times neck issues are posture related. If you spend a lot of time on line get a standing desk. Work on your posture... chin in.

Stiff necks are many times a confluence of poor posture, stress, poor fitness and being in an improper static position for too long and yes there can be a nexus between stiff neck and tinnitus aka somatic based tinnitus.

As a competitive bike rider riding in a neck extended aero position, I have to be vigilant about stretching to keep from getting a painful neck.

Good luck. YouTube is your friend.

This is a great stretch:
