I have been dealing well with my tinnitus. But still have anxiety everyday. It's been 3 months now.

Most days I can pretty much ignore or not hear my tinnitus much. But I still am experiencing anxiety almost all the time.

I don't know why I don't feel like I am stressed about my tinnitus anymore.

How long before the anxiety goes away?

Habituation will eventually curb the anxiety, i go about 99% of my days just being my same self...i don't think T has affected the outlook of life...it just became a bit of a daily annoyance. Even if i try to think about t, my brain immediately changes the topic and i think about something else.

That's just me though. =]

I think it's permanent in some cases, you should start taking some meds, I have the same issue.

What in the world kind of horrific advice is this? "You should start taking some meds"????

There are all SORTS of remedies and things to try and get rid of or bring down anxiety before you jump on pills. Smh.

@Tammy Rowe ,
If your anxiety as only been since having tinnitus it should settle when you don't fear your tinnitus and that could just be by wondering if it will get worse .

Try to stay calm and go about your day as normal and relax more.

In recent years I've had some anxiety for the first time, along with quite a bit of stress. And I think anxiety is just a higher, more intense, "at the moment", form of stress. And stress absolutely makes my T worse!!

I know this may sound easy, but for me it has worked. On some days I just sit back and say, WTH! Does this problem really compare to........? No it doesn't. Is this problem the end of the world?--NO!

I've observed over the years how some older folks just really don't give a shit, about anything. If they can be that way so can I. I'm not going to let some uncontrollable problem ruin my health, or make my T worse.

Control stress---find a distraction. Don't worry--be happy!
