Have had tinnitus for over a month now...ive definitely noticed a change in it at least from my perception from a distinct specific ringing in the ears to more of a super high pitched crickets sounds in my brain/head? Is this normal? Or common? And the fluctuation of the cricket sound def increases with stress even if for a few seconds.

Hi Barry,

I also have the same kind of T around 10.000khz and kind of electric crickets in my head... Mine is pretty loud since I can hear it over tv,car,street... How loud is yours? How do you cope with it? I also get little 5 sec spikes sometimes, really weird feeling:(

What you are experiencing is not unusual because tinnitus can change a lot within the first 6 months to a year of onset. Exposure to loud noise is the most common cause of tinnitus. Typically, it is listening to music through headphones at high volume levels or going to places where loud music is played: clubs, concerts etc. You haven't said what might have caused yours? If it is loud noise I advise you not to listen to audio through headphones even at low volume. Please click on the link below and read my post: New to tinnitus what to do?

Hi David -

Mine varies sometimes loud sometimes not as much. How do i cope....ehh from day to day its diff. If its rly bothering me and loud ill put on one of my youtube sounds masking videos to cope. The high pitch cricket version is so weird to get used to its like a electric impulse war in your brain...

Hi Michael - ENT "thinks" its from hearing loss in left ear. I truly believe the incredible stress i was under from a multitude of things in a short 2 month period somehow activated it.

Hi @Barry33

If you are sure that it isn't exposure to "loud noise" that has caused your tinnitus. Once your stress is reduced or your hearing is improved with the help of a hearing aid, the tinnitus should reduce significantly and most probably go completely away in time..

i think i had very very low tinnitus for awhile now (before it became full blown) and never totally noticed it. i rly think a series of overlapping extremely stressful events in the 2 months made it full blown.
