Tinnitus Since
4 weeks
Does Tinnitus change its position after a while ? In two months since the onset, the sound seems to be coming from inside my head( sides, behind the head sometimes) most of the time and definately not from my ears . And my ears aren't plugged anymore and the pain and pressure have pretty much gone away but tinnitus remains( maybe softer than before, not sure) but I do have loud setbacks throughout the day when stressed or tired. Are my ears healing as they almost feel normal in 2 months . What does this all indicate ?

The audiologist told me that my hair cells are intact as I got T from hitting my head hard on a wall and maybe it's a nerve gone weak or brain filtering dysfunction which may correct itself in time. Maybe this is a different type ?

Has this happened with anybody else in the acute stage ?

Have you done a ct scan of temporal bone ? If you haven't try for it make sure u do it less than 1 mm section or resolution. .

I had a CT brain on the first day of the injury which was negative. Also recently I have had a MRI brain with repeatative internal auditory canal scans which showed no injury nothing. I guess it covered it all. Let me know if I am missing something here.

No brain ct is different from temporal bone..
Request your doctor for temporal bone ct scan... less than 1 mm slice.
1 mm slice is useless for inner ear..
Check with your doc if they say its not necessary then leave it..
Yes I too get the T from back of my head at times.
Mine has subsided mostly only loud during sleeping time or lying down or doing nothing or wearing helmet it slowly creeps in..when I wear the helmet I can be sure it's from my right side. .

Mine is more or less similar to yours. I mostly notice it more when I am lying down but I feel some inclination to the head makes it more bearable somehow.

Good to hear that yours have subsided. I hope it continues to improve for you. My T has become more wave like in the last 7 days. Also my right ear rings a lot too these days. It wasn't like this when it started and it has certainly changed the pattern. No clue where it's heading towards:(

I have an appointment with a renowned neurologist tomorrow. I will certainly ask for the temporal CT. I don't expect much otherwise. Don't know why it soothes my anxiety when I meet doctors when I know they are of no help when it comes to this

Wave like ?? Is it pulsating with ur blood flow ?
I do have some changes but hard to say.. how things will go..

Not really pulsating. It's like eeeeeeuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu. More Us than Es. And sometimes it can be only Es without Us. Hard to explain. It's fluctuating a lot in volume than before.

I too have fluctuations but .. guess its common..
Are u able to sleep ? Without any pills ? Or masking ?
