Tinnitus for 20 Years

I guess i have no questions,it's good to see there's people coping with this for 20 years. It must have been
a struggle at certain points.Still gives me hope there is a chance i won't lose my mind.

Mine seems to be getting worse. I'm going to see someone about hearing aids on Tuesday. Hoping that will provide some relief. My hearing is deteriorating day by day I think.

T is so loud right now.

10 days later still no reply

we now know how he coped - he just ignored it !

Hi,
I have joined this forum as I have had tinnitus since 1999. I had been going to the Doctor feeling ill and it turned out that I had pernicious anemia, an under active thyroid and iron anemia. I fainted in bed one morning just before getting up and have had tinnitus ever since.
Mine sound like someone has flatlined! I describe it as a very thin, high pitched straight line. As for hearing loss - My hearing is exceptional. I can honestly hear bugs moving. I heard a beetle walking on the wall from across the room and told my husband to go look behind the curtain. There it was. My husband couldn't believe it.

I was seen by a consultant who shouted at me that I needed aversion or coping therapy. I yelled back that I am not an idiot, could hear her clearly and as the tinnitus wakes me up at night, I wanted to know how she could teach me to ignore it in my sleep?

I honestly don't know how I cope. I keep upbeat - you have to, don't you - I work and have plenty going on in my life, but I would give practically anything for this torture to stop. I have some very down days and today is one of them, which is why I signed in today.

I hope I haven't depressed anyone. best wishes

Lisa
