Hi There,
I thought I would join this form for help and advice.
My Tinnitus started with a bicycle tire explosion from a customer putting air into a tubeless MTB tire and blowing it off the rim. I have been to a doctor & ENT and both say my ear drum is in fine no holes and is normal.
I did have Inflammation in the right ear after two weeks bur that has cleared up. I also had a fullness in my right ear but that seems to have gone in the past two weeks. I also have distortion in the right ear that has improved but the in train stations in NYC I have to wear ear plugs plus sometimes my voice and others still cause distortion in my right ear.
That has improved in the past 3 weeks but seems to be in a holding pattern.
Today both ears are buzzing that i can notice even with the radio on low volume. Yesterday the ringing was much less while the prevoius two days were the same as today. Today is Sunday and last Monday was my best day so far.
But I seem to be having more bad days that good lately which is making my sleep terrible. I have been taking a lot of natural stuff to assist plus some over the counter sleeping aids to sleep. I am also trying Ginko, Q10, B vitamins, MSM drops along with colloidal silver ( which helped with my ear drum Inflammation ).
This is a work mans comp case now so I seeing another ENT at the NYC ear & eye hospital in about 2 weeks. This is for a hearing test. The last ENT doctor said there is no magic bullet which under my reading so far that is the truth.
The real challenge I am having is that I am driving my wife nuts (can't blame her) she has been great as she works at an excellent health food store so she has been getting stuff for me. I am beginning to think this will take more than 6 months to get better if not longer...
But lately I have been getting very negative thinking this will never go away. I have not abused my ears in the past wear ear covers when needed and don't listen to loud music , this was just an accident but it seems like my life has changed... Is there any advice on how to sleep while not focusing on the ringing. The only way I can reduce the ringing at night is a couple glasses of wine...
This is my first time with tinnitus and I am 59 years old in good health no meds of any kind...
