Is it over a 50% probability or less for it to go away after a year? Guesses?I never say never as we all have hope.
Tinnitus has lots of causes and spikes and hearing loss with age or due to problems so we just have to see what life throws at us and protect our ears when needed.
I just wish tinnitus was taken more seriously..lots of love glynis
I would appreciate any insight what's the probability of tinnitus going away after one year.
Thanks thats exactLy something i needed to hear today.I've known a lot of people who had T for 6-24 months and had it go away.
You're not very likely to run into people like that on this forum, that's for sure though!

Thanks for sharing your opinon. I try to steer clear of the negative ones because they don't help anyone learn to cope with anything. Someone saying your T is never going to go away after a year isn't something I care to read because no one knows for sure if it will go away or not. Sure the chances are less, but if they can locate the cause anything can happen. I'm 31 and suffering for 9 weeks now and my tinnitus was NOT caused by noise damage so I am hopeful it improves as time goes on.I had T for 4 years and it is gone. Not habituated, gone.
Your chances are better if:
-You're young
-The T was not caused by noise damage

As well you should. There will always be members here that push only their own negative view of recovery. I feel it is based on their own anger and frustration which they have every right to of course. Their projection however can be unnerving. It often manifest itself and presenting opinion as fact. Numbers be damn, there are reports on this very forum of people recovering from all types of tinnitus and at various intervals. Where there is one who has revovered there is a chance for another.
Thanks exactly what I was thinking.. There has been an increase in negative posts in the last day or two which do not do anything for anyone except scare and bring them down. I understand tinnitus is not a walk in the park (obviously, I'm living it and struggling with it too). I don't come here to be brought down on my own posts by overwhelming negativity. I come here seeking support/knowledge during difficult times. I'm not asking for anything to be sugar coated either but dang with the negaitivty. That doesn't help anyone with anything..
What was that tinnitus cause you had for 4 years?I had T for 4 years and it is gone. Not habituated, gone.

About as much chance as getting out of quicksand if you're in it up to your neck. Miracles happen, but I wouldn't count on it.
