Tinnitus from Baby Screaming in Ear, Possibly Made Worse by Dental Work and Stress

I think I may have given myself a worse case of hyperacusis as I get delayed pain and burning sensations after noises of a certain pitch (dishes, my son's laugh) or loud noises.
Do you by chance subconsciously clench your jaw at all, like in response to stressors like loud noises? The reason I ask is because I recently started getting burning sensations in one of my ears. I thought it was in reaction to certain noises, but what was actually happening was that I was subconsciously clenching my jaw as a stress response. The clenching was causing my burning sensations. Once I noticed this, I stopped myself from clenching so much, and the burning sensations stopped.

Hmm, that's interesting. I absolutely clench my jaw, as it usually ends up slightly sore at the end of the day. Probably from the stress, as you mentioned. I thought about trying a OTC bite guard. Since the burning is usually slightly delayed, maybe it is the clenching. I'll try to stop but it's so hard as I usually don't realize I'm doing it! Thanks!
