Tinnitus from Violence: Roommatte Boiled Water and Poured It in My Right Ear Canal

It sounds like an answering machine beep that never ends extremely loud! I noticed it a week after I got hurt when they took off the bandages. I think the bandages masked it.
I don't think the bandages masked it. Most likely it just developed and you didn't notice it...
Can you hear this beeping sound outdoors? Does the shower mask it?

I'm so sorry this happened to you. My tinnitus and hearing loss was caused by a friend (it was not intentional) and it's been extremely difficult to deal with. I can only imagine how hard this must be for you. I hope you feel some sort of relief soon. We are here to support you.

At first I wasn't sure if you were actually being serious about this. Why on Earth did your roommate do that to you???? That is beyond the anger that might boil over into a fistfight or something like that. How would he even think to do something so cruel???

Hope you get the help you need and I'm truly sorry that happened to you. I think he should see prison time for something that cruel and violent.

I was sleeping and my roommate boiled water and poured it in my right ear canal. I had to have skin grafts on my ear, face, back, chest and head. I have horrible tinnitus in my right ear. All I can hear is EXTREMELY LOUD tinnitus ALL THE TIME!!!

Any advice would be appreciated.
I hope you beat the shit outta this guy. Like stomped a mud hole and walked it dry.

I would have beaten this guy to a pulp if he did that to me. Good you pressed charges, milk all the money you can out of it because tinnitus can be debilitating.

@robert milvae, I am not into suing or being in court for any reason, it sucks.

That said, you need access to the best doctors that can be available to you. If you have great insurance or your family has money then spend your energy finding and getting to the best doctors and facilities. If that is not the case then pursue legal compensation if his family has it to give up so that you can get properly treated.

I have been staring at this for an hour and I can't get my head wrapped around this. I can't even come up with a bizarre rationale for this. I mean who has ever heard of this before, ever?

Hang in there buddy and spend your energy getting what you need to get better. You have many friends here that support you.

George
