I'll try to keep this short but I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember but it's been bearable enough to where I didn't consider getting help for it.

These past few weeks however, I've noticed my right ear has been getting progressively worse and now this morning it has been ringing the loudest that it's ever been. I don't know what to do. I hope it isn't forever.

Any tips/help/advice on what might be going on or how to cope with this?

Tinnitus usually gets worse for a reason. If there is no underlying medical condition responsible then the usual cause is "sound" exposure. Have you been listening to music through headphones regularly? Or, going to places where loud music is played, working in a noisy environment? Any of these things are the usual cause for tinnitus getting worse. If you have been using headphones even at low volume, I advise you to stop.

Have there been any changes in your life in the last few weeks that might possibly be contributing to the increase?

You said you've had T a long time, but have never sought out help for it. Please know that you can, and that there are people who can help. I was devestated in the first couple of months after the onset of my T and sought professional help from my
Psychiatrist, a counseler who also had T, and a TRT professional. They were all helpful in different ways. You've done well this far without help, but don't be afraid to seek it out if you need it now. Best wishes, Trebor

2 Questions @Ashuia :

a) Have you been under extreme stress lately? (I tend to think mine was the main contributing factor and possibly a sinus infection)

b) What kind of animal is that in your avatar?

I hope your tinnitus lowers to an acceptable level. Feel better!
