Tinnitus Intensity During Driving

@Thongjy when my T is on a bad day, sometimes I find that the noises in my car don't quite mask it, even with the radio on. On a good day though, I won't hear it whilst driving at all...it's weird and I haven't really found a pattern or anything. Maybe if you have reactive tinnitus it appears louder because it seems to be 'fighting' with the other background noises? That's sort of the feeling I get on the bad days, don't know about you? :)

I drive an f350 diesel dually. On good days it will mask my tinnitus. On bad days I can hear my tinnitus over the diesel engine and the radio. Lately, I've stopped listening for it and have had better days. I still have tinnitus but when I do hear it I tell myself that I'm too busy to worry about it and then I forget about it for a while. The times I don't pay attention are getting longer. Please read threads by @I who love music. It really does help.

My T rally ramps up when driving, then stays loud for maybe 30 mins after driving. It's very distracting, too the point I won't drive longer distance any more and am actually thinking about stopping driving as if my mind is not 100% on the road then I am a danger to others on the road.

Jason C.... I hear ya.

About 30 minutes is about how long it takes my my ears to quiet down too.

I no longer drive long distances.

It's the road and wind noise.
