- Possibly being a musician or working around compressed air.
Hi there.
I recently just joined this forum as there's a few things I'd like to get off my chest and see if others experience similar things as me.
The title says it all...after cleaning out my PC with a compressed air unit last weekend, it seems as though my tinnitus has gotten much worse.
It is bearable at some times of the day but for the most part when I'm around electronics e.g. my desktop computer, the tinnitus becomes extremely irritating and it absolutely has been driving me insane.
I've also noticed that the high pitched ringing is considerably worse in my room specifically. Where as in the lounge room or in a more open area such as the kitchen it's just hissing.
I've been a musician for many years and leading up to my teens I didn't consider wearing protection until around 16 years of age. (I'm 21 now.) I try to still wear earplugs where I can but I feel as if earmuffs work better for me. Because the pressure from jamming earplugs into my ears can sometimes make things painful.
I've tried listening to tinnitus masking therapy audio on YouTube, and while that helps immensely, it only works when I'm listening to it.
Hopefully others can relate...I'd love to hear some feedback. Thanks
