Cause of Tinnitus
Not really sure...Bad ear infection?
Since the beginning of April of this year, my tinnitus has kept on getting worse and worse for absolutely no reason at all.

I went to a doctor, I was given lupin 500 and claritin in case I had an ear infection. Though, it barely helped. And it only got worse onward. Right now my tinnitus reacts to sound a lot more than it used to (reactive tinnitus). And new sounds decided to sneak in. The most silence I get is when I am showering. :(

My tinnitus has never really gotten better for the past 2 years. When it "spikes" it almost always stays spiked. So I have no choice but to go through the stressful habituation process all over again...

And no, I don't have hearing loss. I can hear perfectly. (I'm very grateful that my hearing is untouched.) I haven't been exposed to damagingly high volume sounds. I do not use headphones at all. And I don't plan on using them a lot any time soon.

My tinnitus played an April fools joke on me. A very mean one. I am worried that it will continue to get worse no matter what I do.

Darn it...

:(

Hi @RockyDoctah ,
Could it be sinus and allergy related...tree and grass pollen?
Try an antihistamine to reduce mucous and see if it helps over the weekend.
love glynis

@RockyDoctah ,
This time of year is usually the cause.
Try a good antihistamine and nose spray also.
Let me know how your tinnitus goes...
Love glynis

Mine worsens with time too for no obvious reason. It sucks that nothing can be done to lower the tinnitus volume. I have so many high pitched electrical screaching sounds keeping me awake at night.

Find a place that does VEGA testing and get checked for Lyme.
Don't even bother with the standard ELISA test, as it is a complete joke and most likely will come back negative.
