Tinnitus Only When Hearing External Sounds, No Tinnitus When Sitting in Silence. Anybody Else?

It could be a form of reactive tinnitus. There are a number of threads on reactive tinnitus here.

I might of had very minimum tinnitus like 10 years ago when my ears were flushed with a big syringe bc of wax.. I think it went away quickly though... Also when I smoked weed I would get a relaxing tinnitus that would last 30 mins... Like I prev said my bite is off, I can only open my jaw 60%, neck is messed up, etc..

Probably a form of reactive tinnitus. I have a lot of tones, but some of them only pick up if I hear certain kinds of broadband noise.

Ye I've had it some weeks ago, luckily it disappeared. It comes and goes for me, as do my "ordinary" T.

Some people say it's reactive tinnitus, others call it hyperacusis. I tend to agree with both.

I have tinnitus when sitting in silence but I have increased tinnitus when I am around sound. I don't know if it is recruitment, hyperacusis or reactive tinnitus. Many people here on the forum will say they hate sitting in silence while others (like me) prefer sitting in silence.

Yesterday my jaw was opening a little more and my neck felt better and all day long NO Tinnitus.. This happened to anyone else??? Still not sleeping over here rarely.

Dude if 99% of the people on this forum had what you have they'd consider themselves cured.
Why would they :D there is sound present everywhere and it's so annoying to have chirp chirp beep beep tinnitus that reacts to everything lol..caughts you offguard every time. Stressfulll

Mine is lower in silence but rises with noise. I still haven't figured out if it's "reactive tinnitus" or some form of hyperacusis.
