Hello guys,

Today I found something about a possible tinnitus cure. According to clinical tests 70 out of 100 patients say their tinnitus went away after using the Tinnitus Pen.

Can this be true? Have you ever tried the Tinnitus Pen before?

I've read of some people that have had good results with these laser type things but wouldn't this already be huge if it worked? They've been around since 2014 according to their Twitter.

Likely to stimulate the sternocleidomastoid muscle, which may work temporarily for specific type of tinnitus occurred from neck pain/injury. (Forget specific name for it).

Seems to be a very basic but similar concept to the Susan Shore device, which appears to use those stick on zap pads alike those used for back pain muscle spasms with remote control for intensity. (Replacement pads cost around 100 bucks every couple of weeks or so depending on usage).

Neurotypical plz... Let's investigate before we deem this cure. I am highly skeptical and am already assuming this is BS.

These products do claim to regenerate/repair cochlear hair cells, but is it true?

I'm researching this right now, it falls under the category of LLLT (laser therapy), there are other devices like it.

Well shit, sign me up. I've always wanted to stick a tampon sized laser pointer in my ear. Can I get those sweet sunglasses with flames on the side, too? It's a good thing those glasses make you see everything in red just to remind you you're in a living tinnitus hell.

Pre‐conditioning with near infrared photobiomodulation reduces inflammatory cytokines and markers of oxidative stress in cochlear hair cells.

Abstract
Hearing loss is a serious occupational health problem worldwide. Noise, aminoglycoside antibiotics and chemotherapeutic drugs induce hearing loss through changes in metabolic functions resulting in sensory cell death in the cochlea. Metabolic sequelae from noise exposure increase production of nitric oxide (NO) and Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) contributing to higher levels of oxidative stress beyond the physiologic threshold levels of intracellular repair. Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy is a light treatment involving endogenous chromophores commonly used to reduce inflammation and promote tissue repair. Near infrared light (NIR) from Light Emitting Diodes (LED) at 810 nm wavelength were used as a biochemical modulator of cytokine response in cultured HEI‐OC1 auditory cells placed under oxidative stress. Results reported here show that NIR PBM at 810 nm, 30 mW/cm2, 100 seconds, 1.0 J, 3 J/cm2 altered mitochondrial metabolism and oxidative stress response for up to 24 hours post treatment. We report a decrease of inflammatory cytokines and stress levels resulting from NIR applied to HEI‐OC1 auditory cells before treatment with gentamicin or lipopolysaccharide. These results show that cells pretreated with NIR exhibit reduction of proinflammatory markers that correlate with inhibition of mitochondrial superoxide, ROS and NO in response to continuous oxidative stress challenges. Non‐invasive biomolecular down regulation of proinflammatory intracellular metabolic pathways and suppression of oxidative stress via NIR may have the potential to develop novel therapeutic approaches to address noise exposure and ototoxic compounds associated with hearing loss.

I doubt that a hand held pen at 5 mW placed behind the Ear or on top of the Ear would do the job though

Light therapy does work. I shine 660nm red light at my nutballs and body to boost gym performance and boner power. I've read that it has literally no effect on hearing loss or tinnitus though.

My apologies. I misinterpreted on the functionality of this "pen" device in my earlier post.
I looked into this concept awhile ago and forgot all about it. Saved urls (posted below).
Haven't read anyone share feedback to using one here? On top of paying for healthcare insurance etc., most people unfort. don't have addt'l funds to throw out. One site states a 90 day guarantee... however, from a foreign country, you know how that may go. May include subliminal msgs. ;)
Santa's list?

Has anyone the Tinnitus Pen? If there is anyone who has bought and used the product, please inform us.
