Cause of Tinnitus
Acoustic trauma
Last Wednesday I participated in a pacific protest. 200 people. Not any noisy device like sirens, whistles, drums, etc...

Everyone was shouting. Outdoors. I didn't find it loud enough to be worried as I was somewhat careful not to be placed in the "eye of the shouts hurricane".

My tinnitus has been getting louder and louder since then. It has always been intrusive and unmaskable but now is off the charts. I'm worried, depressed and desperate.

Did it cause permanent damage? What are the chances of the tinnitus going back to baseline?

Thanks.

@El BUZZ, if you were shouting your jaw joint could have become inflamed and causing pressure on your ears and it should settle down.

Try not to stress over the loud crowd shouting as that can spike tinnitus.
Time is a great healer so only time will tell if all the shouting around you caused the increase in sound but tinnitus can spike for a reason and also for no reason.

Love,
Glynis

@El BUZZ, you might need this info. My spikes were triggered by too much sugar. I am 99% sure about this. I am almost 1 month spike free. Did you eat too much candy that day?
