Tinnitus Week 2020: Help JimH Fly Us to Vancouver

THANK YOU!

I and @Hazel are so happy all of you came together and raised this amount! The original goal of $2400 should be enough for the flights and accommodation, but I've now adjusted the goal a little bit to make room for any extra if someone wants to still chip in. If we get any extra funds, it could allow us to do something more, such as buy a nice camera to do interviews with, or hire a cameraperson (like we did for last year's Taipei conference), or maybe sponsor a ticket to the conference for another Tinnitus Talk member.
Have a great trip, Jim; do us proud!
I think you have misunderstood the fundraiser. @jimH wanted to raise funds for us, similarly like @Starthrower did last year. Now the fundraiser was for us to be able to attend the TRI conference in Vancouver. And @jimH's initiative makes all this possible for us.

Hopefully all of you who donated will be proud of our contributions at the conference.

Yep, my bad. I'm sure you'll still do us proud regardless :)

After 82 donations we're at $3060.

Only $140 USD away from reaching our goal of $3200. We're almost there!

THANKS so very much to every one of you who has donated so far...! (y)

Hello everyone,

I simply can't believe that 84 people have donated to us this week! I thought we might get 10 or 20 and that's about it. This really has surpassed all my expectations, and @Markku's too.

Some people have donated even though they are living on very limited means. We just want you to know how much that means to us; you're truly heroes in our view!

A couple of people have made extremely generous donations of a few hundred dollars; words can hardly express how much we were touched by such a vote of confidence :)

And really the same message goes out to anyone who donated. You have warmed our hearts and made us feel like our work is valued and appreciated. And of course, you've made it possible for us to attend the TRI Conference in Vancouver in May.

I must say I was a bit hesitant at first about asking for donations for this purpose, but now that we were able to raise the funds, I know that we will be thinking even more than usual about how best to represent this community while there. We must think of a way to make our presence more interactive than we've had in the past; perhaps with a live feed, live chat session or something similar -- we will make it happen for you!!!

And of course... None of this could have happened without @jimH who initiated this donation drive and donated more than anyone else. We are truly blessed to have you as part of this community, Jim!

All the best and warm hugs from Hazel & Markku.

I couldn't agree more Hazel.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank both you and @Markku for all that you do for us, the members of Tinnitus Talk. Finding this community, almost two years ago, was a stroke of luck for me. Had I not found this place, my situation would have escalated downwards. Instead I remain hopeful and optimistic. The Success Stories kept me sane.
