Tinnitus Worse After a CT Scan with Oral and IV Contrast — Anybode Else?!

Hello,

Good afternoon. I know this post is a bit late, but I wanted to ask if you could provide an update on your situation and what eventually happened. I'm going through a similar experience right now, and I'm afraid of the worst.

I had finally adjusted to life with tinnitus; getting sleep, feeling better overall, and managing well. Then, I needed a CT scan for an unrelated issue. Everything I researched beforehand suggested it would be safe.

However, ever since they injected the IV contrast, my tinnitus has become unbearably loud. 10/10, constant, and 24/7. I'm in full panic mode.

Did the spike in your tinnitus caused by the CT scan ever subside? Any information or details you can share would be greatly appreciated. I even created this account specifically to ask you this question.

Thank you, and have a great day.

I can't think of anything else that could have caused the spike. I keep a detailed record of every fluctuation and track how my tinnitus behaves over time. Ever since they injected the IV contrast, I've been experiencing a spike from hell.

I'm really hoping the original poster can share if their tinnitus ever returned to normal.

One more data point. I had a CT of the head with and without contrast 3 weeks ago. No change in tinnitus volume or perception.
