Tip 1: Go to a hearing aid place. Even if you have a mild loss, getting it corrected can cut T down, especially if you have them amplify it a little above normal. Ask them to give you "-10dB hearing" and tell them you have T. Tell them you need a little extra amplification to cut T down. Make sure the hearing aids cannot amplify above a safe levels. If they don't work for you, you usually have between 30 to 90 days to return them.
Tip 2: If, you still have a hard time getting over T, you can get on supplements or medicine to help your brain habituate faster. If it is mild and you have you have mood fluctuations about it, maybe you can try fish oil. If it increases T, discontinue. If anxiety is the issue, maybe a little Valerian root might help (Just don't take it every day, and only in moderation). If you don't want to try supplements or they don't work, you can go to the doctor and ask him about a mood stabilizer with anti-depressant effects such as Lamictal or anti-depressants. Only take the minimum amount required to help you deal with your T. If you can go 6 or 7 days and feel good, you know that you can do it in the future. If the T starts bothering you now and then, you should be able to ignore it faster and just tell yourself, you will be okay after a while.
Tip 3: Prayer and enjoy helping others. Think about good things. Easier said than done right now, but once you get your feet back on the ground it will be easier to do.
