Hi,
I am new to the forum and decided to post as I can't seem to find any answers with Google.
I have high frequency tinnitus, it's low-in the background all the time (like someone has the tv on in the next room). I contracted it after I suffered whiplash in a car accident and it usually flares when I get a sinus infection and goes to "normal" volume after antibiotics.
I suspect I may have another sinus infection but this time, starting a few days ago and several times a day, I get a sudden sound - like blowing in a glass bottle, some hollowness follows - which then quickly fades away within a few seconds. I also experience slight pressure in my eyes which makes them water slightly during the sound.
I have an appt with Dr. for Dec 15 (earliest). Has anyone experienced this before? Is it a sign of ear infection? And should I seek medical attention faster to prevent hearing loss or damage? Or am I worried about nothing? I have never experienced this frequency of fluctuating sounds before.
Thanks for reading.
