About 9-10 days after a tooth extraction, I started having bad, uncharacteristic tinnitus on the side of that tooth. I have seen examples on here and in studies where dental procedures (dental implants, wisdom tooth extraction, etc.) can lead to tinnitus or sudden hearing loss.

Does anyone have an experience like mine, and what did you do? I'm having trouble with the ENT/dentist believing me, even though it's clear dental stuff can impact hearing and tinnitus.

If I did find a doctor, I don't even know what procedure or treatment I could have. I'm at a bit of a loss and could really use some suggestions.

When you have teeth removed, it can alter your bite, and your jaw joint can become inflamed, which may cause tinnitus.

To prevent jaw joint inflammation, consider the following tips:

- Avoid biting directly into apples; instead, cut them into smaller pieces.
- Try to avoid foods that require a lot of chewing.
- Wearing a mouth guard at night can help if you grind your teeth.

I hope that helps.

Hello! I developed one tinnitus sound after a dentist appointment. I already had TMJ, which started after my wisdom tooth removal. During a night guard fitting, I had to keep my mouth open for too long, and this caused a very low-pitched hum on one side.

Sometimes the hum lessens to the point where I can't hear it, but other times it comes back extremely loud—especially when I wear my night guard (which is quite ironic).
