Loud headset usage , hi freq
I got a pair of ReSound Enya's to try out. With a white noise and pink noise setting. I can adjust the volume easily.

Problem is, my tinnitus frequency is around 16 kHz. And I cannot even hear that frequency anymore. So there's absolutely no masking going on as easily as it would be with a 5 kHz tinnitus frequency...

The point of 'blending' for me is not very clear, as the devices have a range from 500 Hz to 6 kHz. I don't really feel when 'partial supression' starts.

Does anyone have any experience with this sort of high frequency tinnitus and how to find that mixing point that appears to be crucial for TRT?

Try turning up the volume just loud enough for you to start to hear it. Don't try to mask out the tinnitus. You have to find your "sweet spot." It's a volume that you just start to hear but at a level that in about 1/2 an hour you really don't notice it once you become active doing other things. I used my hearing aid/masker this way and my tinnitus dropped way down in about three weeks. It's almost like the brain starts trying to hear the quiet sound and forgets about the tinnitus. My problem is that since I started tapering off a high daily dosage of klonopin I have a "new" tinnitus that becomes louder if I try to use that method. Kind of like a HC going on. I'm going to go back and give it a try again after I'm off Klonopin for a few months. But before that it worked so well I purchased a second unit as a backup. Give it a try for three weeks. The important thing is that you are not trying to mask out the tinnitus.
