Cause of Tinnitus
Most probably TMJD and neck issues that came with it.
I have debilitating Typewriter Tinnitus which comes on and off but has been with me since the first days of my regular tinnitus.

It has currently reached to a level where I cannot function properly.

A functional MRI two years ago revealed that; the cochlear nerve on the left tinnitus side) was indented (?) and a vascular loop can be observed. Of course my ENT could not understand what that is but, is there anyone who can answer is this auditory nerve compression?

The thing is I can modulate and stop the sound by moving my ear canal. Can auditory nerve area be reached directly or indirectly like that?

I also have TTTS.

My last question is, is there anyone experienced any harsh side effects of Carbamazapine?

Thanks a lot.

Perhaps someone would be able to recommend a knowledgeable ENT to OP?

If the ENT is good enough, you might consider traveling to a foreign country to see them...

Thanks @Bill Bauer. I have been to all ENTs in Turkey that I could possibly have been to, but no help. It is so frustrating. After a while in my opinion, being an ENT turns into a craft for them with a million of adenoid removal surgeries every year or a million people with the flu complaints and they forgot that they are actually doctors. Be innovative and follow the literature and new cases for gods sake.

The only occupation where you don't need to be that innovative and following the trends is being a doctor these days. If you were a marketing manager and the only help you offer to your company for promotion was 'telemarketing' you would be damned today. I am so furious :(

And you know what is worse? All your family members start to treat you as the most serious hypochondria case just because you've been to and planning to visit countless doctors. I actually have to hide my worries from my sisters and my mother right now because they are all like; shut up and get used to it already Melike. The only person who understands me is my lovely boyfriend because he has tinnitus too and he is the only good thing that is given me in this life aside from the blizzard of pain, suffering, problems and traumas.

It is the same way in Canada.

I've seen a handful of posts here by people who were fortunate to find knowledgeable ENTs. I can't believe I didn't realize that it would have been a good idea to find out the names of those ENTs.

Because you were probably thinking this thing wouldn't come to traveling abroad for getting some damn relief. But it does apparently. I sometimes feel so sorry for myself and also other people in this forum, I can't stop thinking about what we did to deserve this pain.

Hi

so sorry for your Tinnitus.. is your tinnitus coming from vascular loop compression only or it has any other cause?
