Unilateral Hearing Loss and Tinnitus — What Do You Make of This?

Hi,

So - out of the blue six months ago I started getting high pitched and mid-frequency (LOUD) tinnitus in my left ear.

Then I got dizzy spells.

Then my hearing started to deteriorate (low to mid frequency).

Anyhoos, I had a meeting with the ENT today, and they think it's Cochlear Otosclerosis (even though I'm 55!).

My mum had otosclerosis in both ears - god bless her (she has passed) - but until 6 months ago my hearing was perfect and I didn't this orchestra in my ears.

Anyway - I'm getting more tests done - but I've attached an audiogram - I can't make head nor tail of it so any thoughts would be really, really welcome!

Hi Dan, you cannot connect the tinnitus, hearing loss and dizzy spells to anything like very loud noise, medication, etc? Did they just appear suddently for no reason?

Hmmm I cannot see the audiogram, I dont know why..

Hi

No - the tinnitus came on over Xmas 2018, the diziness a month later. The diziness resolved - but the Tinnitus continued and then, in June 2019 - I had hearing loss in the left ear.

I'm going to try and re-attach a link to the audiogram ...
