Hi everyone.
A bit of back story, any help or advice would be welcome.
I'm 37 and healthy, no meds or health problems, no loud concerts or work places.
I woke up one morning in September with a ringing in my right ear, didn't think much about it, fast forward a few days and I realise that my hearing in the same ear is a bit off. I can only describe the sound like having a conversation with someone on a bad phone line.
I went to the doctors a few times who said they can't see anything so likely I have fluid behind my eardrum and sent me away with nasal spray, saying I need to give it time to work.
I finally got fed up and went to the audiologists to get my hearing checked. I was told I have severe hearing loss in my right ear and will likely need a hearing aid but I need to go back to the doctor to find out what caused it.
Returned to my doctor who viewed the test results and told me to go to A+E , I went and was told that I will get an urgent referral to ENT as too much time has passed for it to be treated as an emergency (it was 5.30pm on a Friday).
Anyway I'm trying to think of what could have caused it. I had a filling on my right side top tooth at the end of August, no issues during the dental appointment or afterwards but it's the only connection I can think of.
I googled it but can't really find a clear link between tinnitus and dental fillings, I wonder if anyone's tinnitus was caused by dental procedures?
