Dear all,

after taking a shower, I have water left in my ear which won't come out. Since my hearing is not muffled and I am not feeling any pressure, it can't be that much water left. It is just a "fresh feeling" inside the ear when air comes into it. This has now lasted for 2 days.

It tried drying it with a warm, smooth blower, with jumping up and down, lying on the side for hours, gently putting in more water to flush everything out, trying to dry it carefully with a tissue ... nothing helped.

I can only feel very little movement of the water in the ear randomly.

Anyway, I am seeing my ENT today so he can have a look.

The last time I went there, he did a tympanometry on me because I was not prepared. This time I want to be ... so can you please tell me what ENT's do to remove water from the ear canal and what treatment I should definately avoid?

Thank you in advance,

I had a little wax build up, it seems like that did go wet after the shower and created that feeling in my ear. He cleared the wax manually and things got better.
