What About God?

@RicoS

Hey, I can walk on water!! No lie!! For 3 months a year a lake close to me freezes over and I can safely walk on it all I want! Therefore I may be God!

@Ecip

Bummer the video above has no closed captioning for the deaf dudes like me. That's OK tho. Seen a ton of these videos. It's funny however that there are just as many NDE videos made from people who experienced nothing but cold and loneliness during the period they nearly passed on. These videos never become mainstream like the positive videos. No one is willing to pay Dr. Eban Alexander $500.00 to attend a function/dinner and speech about a negative NDE. So the positive ones get splashed around and the negative ones buried faster than my car during a snowstorm!

@DDD

Yea disrespect about beliefs can ruin a fun topic quick. If ever I met a man like Jesus that lived a real good life, did right by all of mankind and his name happened to be Bob...... I would be a Bob freak!! Seriously I would want to be like Bob. I am a good people freak! People who can enjoy a hit and give one once in awhile. Anyone who can laugh in the face of adversary. If Jesus really was this great and chosen one, then count me in as a Jesus freak too. However he won't win a place in my heart any higher than Bob!!

If you want to be with your god and think you lived on his standards , why not kill yourself right away and join him. Why stay here? Things are much better over there.

Why cry when a relative or a friend dies? He goes to god doesn't he/she? So you'll meet them after your live again so no tears anymore when that happens.

When my child is hit by a car and dies ...he is with god so he is even in a better place than with me and my T...so I can throw a party?

When a woman is raped as she screams...please help me god.....where is god?

If 2 boxers in the ring pray to god to give them the strength to win.... Why is there always a loser. The fighter that wins thanks god....but what about the other fighter?

When Boco Haram murders children and woman.... where is god?

Where is all the magic that happend in the past ...where is it now....seas that went open and you can walk through? Walkin on water? Wine coming out of a stone. A burning bush that talks? Where is all that magic now....?? Climbing up a hill and come back with 10 rules to obey written in stone? Rivers of blood? A star showing me the way. (save me focussing on googlemaps when I am driving) Why do does things not happen anymore ...is god bored or something.
Where are the angels with wings flying through the sky...are they scared of the planes and do not show up?

We are made in the image of God...does he also has T? Or perhaps it seems like T because everybody is asking him stuff 24/7 so it is a large big mountain of noise.

etc etc etc :chicken:

Suicide is a sin and you go to hell to burn in anguish and misery and pain forever and ever, because God loves you.
Damn, they thought of everything.

@Ecip

Sounds like another God brainwashing theory. This everlasting, ever loving, ever comforting God is going to cast you to hell for ever and ever if you off yourself because of intense misery? Hell sure must be a busy place then! To think all these souls are crammed in earths mantle burning in misery forever...... and how much more room is available in the mantle? I hope we all stop sinning cause if one more person gets sent to hell, the earth may explode from undue outward pressures from the core known as hell!! Hey, I think I just discovered the REAL Big Bang theory!

I didn't think it was very religious. It's spiritual, but not religious, imo.

Asking somebody with debilitating tinnitus if they believe in God reminds me of the political joke.
What is the definition of a liberal that's been mugged? A conservative. ;)

Good chuckle from the " He can't handle money" punchline. Reminds me of something I had to feed into my old mothers head one day.

She is a regular Sunday church goer. Catholic but not crazy preacher type. I never interfere in her beliefs and actually laugh at her a lot for reasons I will explain in a moment.

I am happy she still gets out on her own, picks up a friend or 2 and makes her way to church and then lunch with the old girls. After church service she brings home the weekly bulletin that they print up. It is usually 4 pages long and lists upcoming events, church service times etc. In each weekly bulletin they are asking for donations for at LEAST 6 things they have going on. More when it comes to Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving etc. Mother already donates weekly when she attends mass. Even on her fixed and tight budget she gives some to the church. That's cool! So I told her to keep watch on these weekly bulletins and how many times they want more money!! After about 2 months she finally admitted it really looks like a money grab more than anything. Listen, the Catholic church is the RICHEST business in the world. The total assets of land, buildings, payroll, furnishings, and banked funding is worth multi billions of dollars, yet they need more every week!!

So onto my nice little old church going mom. I remember around 7 years ago I was in town visiting friends and family and stayed at moms for a night. She wanted to go do some shopping and asked if I would join her and carry some heavy stuff. Sure mom, you bet! We hop in her car and off we go. At the time that would have made her around 75 years old. So we get done shopping and make our way out of the parking lot at the mall. Traffic is heavy at the time and a stoplight not far ahead clogs up the entrance to the mall. We are making a typical right hand turn out of the mall but the road is clogged and the light ahead is red. Cars jam up and no one left a space so she could start to make her way onto the road. She looks at the driver blocking us in, raises up her middle finger and calls him a F***ing A**h**e for not allowing her onto the road.

My jaw dropped!! I went red in the face. My nice little 75 year old church going mom is giving this dude the middle finger and swearing at him!! I have been laughing at her since. Total brainwashed by the church and still functions like any of us sinners day to day. True story!

Talking about the near death experience of the doctors, I was really impressed by the story of Doctor Mary Neil whose NDE story was so extraordinary that CNN AC360, a prime time show of a serious news network, would find it newsworthy to spend an hour of investigative journalism. on her experience. Many people have NDE and talk of meeting of spirits of loved ones, of angels, even Jesus and God. But her story has one striking element that I simply think she couldn't have hallucinated in her near-death experience of chemical or nerve reaction - that her young son would die soon. Here is one of the many versions on youtube about Dr. Neil:

First off, she was someone not actively religious attending church every Sunday or that. She is a student of science and medicine. Too busy in her medical practice to care about the spiritual stuffs. When she was drowned, she had medically trained person around her. Not sure if her colleagues were there, but her husband is also a doctor. They all thought she was dead, with lips turning purple and pupils dilated and oxygen deprived for more than 10 minutes trapped under a rock in a kayak accident. She could see how they tried to help resuscitate her. She went through the common elements of a NDE, that the spirit floated out of the body, could see what was going on, the frantic rescue and resuscitate effort, saw some spirits around her, and then went over to the other side of existence - the realm of the spirit and God. There, as with most other people with NDE, she felt overwhelming love and acceptance from all those around her, and at some stage she was told her time on Earth is not done and then she was sent back to her body.

What her story separates from most others and that is not in the youtube versions is that during the CNN interview, she told the journalist that besides being told her time was not up, that her young son of 18 will be called back soon. Wow! She came back feeling calm, realizing how real her experience has been and that if her son would be called back it would not be a total disaster, as she herself repeatedly said the world of the spirit and God is so warm and loving and beautiful that she was depressed to come back alive (which is commonly among most folks with NDE). She told her husband that their son will be called back soon. But they decided not to alarm the son to scare him. Sure enough, he was on a camping trip later with friends and died in an accident. Wow! I simply don't know how she could have made up such a thing in her near-death state if her brain was in its last stretch of functions, running out of oxygen.

What is more unique is that after she came back and while in the hospital recuperating, she went back to chat with the angels about the big questions of life, why so many bad things happen on Earth, the very same protests some of us raise in this thread. Perhaps those curious about the answer should search youtube or google her up to read all her subsequent writings or interviews to see if there are more to her story. But she is not the only doctors with NDE. In fact youtube has a playlist of dozens of MDs with NDE. It is logic defying indeed that so many intellectual and scientifically trained doctors are risking their name and reputation to be telling the world of their extraordinary NDE. I mean it must be so real and so impactful to their lives that they simply can't care less what world would look at them in order to tell the truth about what they have seen - that there are spirits, Jesus and God, and that this early existence is only temporary, that the eternal worlds are a wonderful place awaiting us all if we are good enough for that.

I believe in an all loving Heavenly Father, God Almighty of this universe. I have lost my only son at 5 years old to a freak accident and I saw him bleeding to death in my arm. I suffered PTSD after not being able to sleep as closing my eyes would bring his bloody dying moment into view. I had to be medicated and counselled heavily for some time. But I don't blame my loving Heavenly Father a bit for my suffering. He called my son home to a wonderful realm of existence that I could hardly fathomed. I miss him and his companionship dearly. But that doesn't mean God is evil. I extend that love of my son to my wife, my other 3 girls and loved ones, even strangers coming here to this site for help.

I respect what others think God should do this or that in this world and that God is to be blamed for all the misery. For each their own. For me, God the Father, the Creator, has never promised that if you believe in Him, you will be shielded from sufferings and sickness in this life. He didn't do that for those who had done the most for Him and His kingdom, not Job, not His prophets, not Jesus' followers, apostles, and not even His only begotten, Jesus himself. This life has no exemption for anybody. Perhaps next life if you believe in one. But this life seems to be under the realm of the Devil himself as even in the Bible it talks about how evil spirits inflicted people with sickness and with their bodies possessed.

God is love, sublime perfect love, as is said in John 3:16. That seems to be so hard to believe given what hatred, killings, wars, sickness, natural disasters, accidents, epidemics and all manner of evils around us. But to those who love and believe in Him, and for those who had come back from NDEs (with some exceptions), they testify that God is love, overwhelming and perfect love. Jesus is the Christ, our savior and redeemer. We simply can't explain or understand all things at this stage of our existence. I close with the NDE of children and a show done by a much younger Opra on their childhood NDEs.

@billie48 , can I ask you what Mary neil heard from the angels and God about why bad things happen to not bad people? And what other things she was told? Her interviews domt seem to go into detail on those topics, but I am very interested in hearing what was said. Thanks if you can answer this.

"Not all true things are the truth, nor should that truth which merely seems true according to human opinions be preferred to the true truth, that according to the faith." Early Church Father Bishop Eusebius.

or

"If you need to win badly enough, just make shit up".

So I suppose all those multi thousands of NDE's that were very negative were never worthy off prime time news or an hour long interview with a large television corporation. If something sounds amazing, it sells to a bigger public! Better ratings! Sure seeing into the future somehow seems remarkable. It not only happens on a death bed tho.

For quite a few years when i was in my late 20's to mid 30's, I went thru a weird period where I could detect a speed/radar trap ahead. My wife at the time found this to be spooky and so did I for that matter. Even friends at times when they were in my vehicle would laugh when I told them I sense a cop ahead giving out speeding tickets. I would slow down enough to not get nabbed and every flippin time there was a cruiser somewhere not far ahead with radar going. So they laughed at first when I slowed down, then looked at me strange when I was right. I wasn't trying to be on the alert for a speeding ticket. Hell I was simply driving and paying attention to my passengers and the road conditions. It would just hit me!! So who knows what goes on for sure with the way we interact with each other. It became a topic among family and friends on how I could so easily sense this crap.

I really was spooked at myself for this and even tried to see if I could detect the future lottery numbers!! Nope, I could only detect something if it was going to be a negative effect on me. I had no ESP, no crystal ball, magical powers etc. I went thru about 8 or 9 years where I was hyper aware of negative things.

So lets keep all these NDE experiences in perspective. Who knows what really makes some things we see in the future actually take place? If this is what you need to use to believe in God then I won't argue with you. God may exist, angels may exist, orbs, beautiful girls with butterfly wings may exist. So many of us have been brainwashed into absolute freight about our end. So scared they cling onto any good story and dismiss the bad ones.

I don't need a bible or a church to be a good man. I just need to keep a good heart and do my best with my fellow man. Let me be judged for being ME and not some frightened sinner!!

I almost forgot to mention here about the theory from a couple of my friends at the time. They said it was my guardian angel looking out for me!! I was like.........ewwwwwww! You mean to tell me I have some invisible fairy floating around me all the time? Talk about instant Erectile Dysfunction during hot passionate intercourse!! Um, sorry hun but I have this guardian angel watching me and don't feel comfortable making love tonight!!

Soaking in the bathtub with your eyes closed and what comes to mind? This fairy floating around watching you bathe?? Heck pass me a blanket, I need to have a bowel movement and want to cover up!! Someone is watching me!!

How about those who passed away in my life that I knew? Are they up in heaven and once in awhile look down whenever they please and watch me? eeeeewe!! I kinda like some privacy please!!

No I didn't follow her story in detail after the initial CNN interview. That is why I said in my post that those who like to find out more should check her videos and perhaps writings more. My main interest in her story is not about the world and its problems. It is more about the reality of the spirit and the realm beyond. I was happy to know that God has selected some individuals to return to confirm the reality of the life after. I have lost my only son suddenly and tragically before and have suffered PTSD due to that. I needed much more than an ancient holy book nor a prayer or comfort of others to reassure me that my son has gone on to another world. I was looking for more than dreams of him, I wanted absolute evidence of such existence that science can't explain.

The doctor's story is just one of hundreds of NDEs I have read or known. But these were stories from strangers, from books and videos, too distant from me. They were not as reassuring as the personal NDE of people I know and at least 3 of them came forward to tell me about their stories and they are all incredible to hear. No wait science can explain them.

The most unexpected but comforting story came from a lady who is of the same faith but from a different congregation. It was totally unexpected and it came in the nick of time, the moment I needed it most during my son's tragedy. On the forth day after the accident, the hospital doctors informed us that he was brain dead and his vital signs nearing the end. My wife and I were totally heart-broken and broke down crying. I never forget that moment when the nursers drew the curtain around his bed to let us spend the last private time with my boy. Before we had time to start our grieving around him, the closed curtain suddenly opened again by a lady who we didn't know before. She told us she heard about our son's in critical condition which was announced and the church minister was inviting members to pray for us. She felt strongly to come visit us instead. After a brief introduction of herself, she told us 'talk to him, talk to him, he is still around and can see you and hear you.'. Then she said (paraphrase) 'Over 30 years ago, I was like your son, in death bed but I was being operated for cancer. Then my heart stopped and I floated out of my body as a spirit. I could see their panic trying to resuscitate me. I could hear what they were saying. But then I went to the other side, and what a beautiful world full of love, warmth and perfect acceptance. While I was there I was told that my time is not up and I was sent back, reviving over 10 minutes after my heart has stopped, and my cancer disappeared totally after that incidence.". Her personal story of the reality of the spirit world has helped so much to lighten our grief. We still missed our son a lot, but at least we knew then his passing from this world is not the end of him, and that we will see each other again someday.

Another story is from a 80 years old friend (age is at the time of the story), a war veteran as an army engineer, who had kept his story quiet all these years until over a social dinner he heard about us talking about the subject of NDE and hearing about us talk about the story of the lady above. He had to leave the gathering earlier and he told me to come to the door. There privately he told me that during the war, as a young soldier in the army engineer corp, he was servicing some electrical wirings and was electrocuted literally. He said later that his heart stopped and he went over to the other side and related to me again most of the common elements of a NDE. He said the experience is so real to him that he never fears death anymore.

Again, to each their own. No one has to believe NDEs. I am not sure if every one who returns from near death experience has a spiritual element. If you choose to discard NDE or accept NDE, it is your personal choice. But for me, NDE is not what prop my faith in God the Father and the Savor Jesus Christ. Faith is felt from within and has to be lived to feel closer to God. But during the most tragic moment in my life, those precious NDEs related to me personally are sacred to my life's experiences and most welcome as a bonus to help me heal from the deep grief of losing a dearly loved child.

No one has to believe NDEs.

I truly am sorry about your loss. Indeed one of the hardest things for any parent to bare. I am also happy if these positive NDE stories help you along this journey of life. I will never say they are all nonsense. I do know however many have had NDE's that were horribly alarming! Many of these people claim to have lived a good life, a loving life and living within the word of God. So why are some experiences good and some bad? Why do we openly accept only the good stories and bury the bad ones by saying MAYBE he/she really is a horrible sinner and has seen his/her fate if things don't change! If it's a good story, BOOM we agree! A bad story and bla bla bla sinner saw his demise bla bla etc.

I do believe we have powers within that can never be explained by science. I have has some experiences like this. Little hairs standing up and warning me of things. I certainly hope there is more to this life!

Should you really believe in the story of our Lord Jesus Christ, then you must accept that he has already paid for the sin of man. He was doubted, cast aside, spat on, stoned, and eventually crucified for bring the word of God to his fellow man. God chose Him to pay for our sins! And pay he did should you fully accept the entire story. He even went to hell to release all those sinners trapped there and freed them into heaven! This means Lucifer, Satan, Chuckie.... or what ever you call this demon is now officially out of business!! This means every soul will meet in heaven, thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ! So why do we need to be reaffirmed by stories?

Do devotees of other religions report seeing Jesus/God etc when they have NDEs or do they see the deities they would expect to see based on their life and culture? Does God tell Jesus to stay inside if a Buddhist appears at the gate?

I still cannot for the life of me understand why they need a gate?? This is almighty heaven. Gated?? weird!!!

The Old Testament, Genesis 1&2.....
Genesis 2

2Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all their multitude. 2And on the seventh day God finished the work that he had done, and he rested on the seventh day from all the work that he had done. 3So God blessed the seventh day and hallowed it, because on it God rested from all the work that he had done in creation.

4 These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created.

So, this guy busted his hump for 6 days creating all that was good. On the 7th day he rested. I'm left in the dark here. Did he return to work on the 8th day or is he now retired? I busted my hump many times for 6 days straight! Surely I deserve to now be happy and rested for ever and ever!! No??

I got news for yea. The gate was removed well before the Berlin Wall came down!! It's heaven and God already chose our savior to absolve us of all our sins. Satan was put out of business and therefore the pearly gate was no longer necessary!!

I sure hope He sent that old used gate to the recycling yard!! Be a shame if it ended up in a landfill pit. :confused:

A lot of males that pass on see many of the great pin up girls of years past....Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Farrah Fawcett etc.
