What If One Had the Audio Cortex Surgically Removed?

Really? So they can do it without going in?

Maybe there is a way to temporary paralyze part of the brain while the patient is awake, then when the T disappear they know what to remove or kill?

I know they do something similar with parkinson patients, and thats even a problem deep within the brain.
And the audio cortex or DCN, is I believe, on the surface of the brain. Should be easier to get to, right?

I would appreciate input from anyone who have any more knowledge about this.

There is no secret exactly where sound is processed in the brain:

Thank you for posting this picture!
I'm mostly replying to this for my own sake.

When i'm doing this exercise:
I also get slight tinnitus in my left ear that's been tinnitus-free

Man i was drunk and miserable and then i stumbled across this topic and this picture and it uplifted me. I'm not taking the long ride away before i have exhausted every possibility to cure my somatic tinnitus.

So my theory is that my atlas or C1 is unstable or adhesions are putting pressure on the atlas and the nerves.

TRT does not do anything related to reducing tinnitus volume.

That is incorrect. TRT will reduce the volume of the tinnitus or rather its perception will be reduced which is the same thing. Unless you have had TRT you will not know that it can be very effective in reducing the level of the tinnitus. Some people have so called TRT treatment when it is not the proper treatment following the Jastreboff protocol. If a person is going to have this treatment and expect tinnitus to be cured then they will be disappointed because that isn't what TRT is. It is a gradual retraining of the way a person thinks about tinnitus and this is achieved through talk therapy/counselling with a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist that practices this treatment. Sound therapy with the use of two white noise generators and using a sound machine at night is also essential with this treatment. It takes up to 2 years to complete.

In addition to this, a person has to reinforce positive thinking and the first step is not discussing the treatment in Tinnitus forums but it's best to keep away from them altogether if having this treatment or any other for tinnitus. The reason being because of negative thinking people that will try to convince a person TRT and other treatment for tinnitus aren't effective and that is not true.

Johan: Your tests did not show odontoid articulation so it's not your atlas. You don't have hyperextension or compression findings from your tests. You told me this. This would have been noted by your radiologist and it wasn't. Scroll halfway down within this article to CERVIOTHORACTIC JUNCTION AREA in blue letters. It's fixable.

Of all the treatment options I stumbled upon in my desolate search journey of shocking disappointment and desperation, this seems the most direct and promising.

When you wrote "this" were you talking about having the audio cortex surgically removed?

I would like to see real radiotherapy research on auditory cortex and auditory association area in the brain, definitely experiment on animals first.
But if doctors still tells people "do not worry, tinnitus not killing", so they will never do research like this.

BTW, my PET/CT result shown "reduced absorption of contrast agent in left medial temporal lobe". It's close to the hearing area. My ENT saw it and told that my ADD/ADHD may be linked to low decreased oxygen flow in this lobe and the tinnitus can be linked to ADD/ADHD according to some research. He suggested me to do Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy(HOT), I did about 30 courses without improvement on tinnitus, but with a slight aggravation in memory.

Massage in temples may relax the "anterior temporalis muscle" and then supposedly will be less pressure on the temporal lobe. Moreover, massage in this area can improve blood flow, namely increase oxygen in auditory area in temporal lobe.

Sounds too risky for me. I am afraid that we don't know enough about the brain and remember a case about a man who got treated surgically for epilepsy and got severe case of amnesia, could not remember anything for more than a minute. Patient H.M. Horrific story. If one thing is worse than T, it is brain damage conditions.

Since developing H in my bad ear, it's the S's in people's speech, especially on the phone, that bother me. Do you also have trouble specifically with high-pitched sounds?
When people are talking to me, when people says just about anything with a "S" it hurts my ears. I thought it was just me that felt that way.
