What Is the Pitch of Your Pulsatile Tinnitus? Mine Is High-Pitched and Sounds Like Crickets

I've had a ringing in my right ear for four years, which I believe is pulsatile tinnitus. The ringing is rhythmic, and an ENT test showed that my hearing in that ear is normal.

However, when people describe pulsatile tinnitus, it's often characterized as a "whooshing" sound, like a washing machine. In contrast, my ringing is high-pitched and sounds more like crickets.

Does the higher pitch make it less likely to be a vascular issue?

Mine is supposedly not vascular, and it is usually the same pitch as yours, though it changes at times. I think a lot of people experience the cricket-like pitch. Pulsatile tinnitus is typically in sync with your heartbeat. In some cases, doctors can even hear pulsatile tinnitus using a stethoscope.

It is also possible to have tinnitus without measurable hearing loss, so perhaps you simply have normal subjective tinnitus.

I have pulsatile tinnitus, which is also high-pitched. I live in Canada and am originally French, so please excuse my English.

I developed this pulsatile tinnitus over the past 12 months and have noticed that it is in sync with my heartbeat. I consulted an ENT specialist, but I was told there's not much they can do.

I asked ChatGPT, and it mentioned a treatment called Lenire that seems to give good results for some patients who have tried it.

Does anyone have more information about this treatment or know of anything else that has helped with tinnitus?
