What the Hell Is All This Buzzing Sensation

Hey guys. I went to the Drs today. He told me it was
Eustachian Tube Dysfunction.
Said to wait until my ENT appointment.

I was told that I had TMJ by ENTs because I have the same symptoms. I went to a TMJ expert who said that I don't have TMJ at all. The problem is my ear. You are having problems when you get out of a car b/c something is wrong with your vestibular system.

Are you going to have tubes put in? I am going to a ENT tomorrow to see if he will put tubes in my ears. I'm unsure if my noise is from ETD, but I think I have negative pressure according to my Tympanogram. Ear tubes leave small scars I was told. I've been trying a EarPopper. It could be just inner ear damage for me or possibly TMJD.

@amymilly, good luck on your ENT appt.

Yes I fully understand what your describing.
That's exactly how it feels. But sometimes I get pain around the side of my ear by my cheek bone. So would you just sat it was s form of tinnitus.? Did anything make yours worse? When iv gotten out a car mine goes intense. Vile vile vile. X

It happened most when I was tired or after some loud noise. In my case, I got Tinnitus from acoustic trauma, I still feel some pain inside my ears when surprised by a loud noise, but it happens less often now.

Did you go to a Doctor? Find someone with expertise in treating Tinnitus patients. Maybe something can be done in your case.

Yeah I went to the doctors this morning. After. Basically told me I have this tune dysfunctional thing. And to pop my ears. I don't even know. Lol!

It's your balance system. It's in your ear. Did your tinnitus come after a virus?
No Hun.
I was at a concert. Perforated my ear drum.
Then this hell started. How did you get yours?! And I was thinking that tmj because I keep having this face pain. I don't even know honestly. Just annoying. Did your vibration go. I wish mine would hurry up :(

Thank you. I still have another month to wait. And I have no idea I don't know anything about it. I'm all new to this! X

I have no idea. I woke up with it one day about a month after having a C-section and being up for several days straight. I don't know what is wrong with me either. I have the vibration now. I just posted about it. Not sure if it is the same as yours or not. I have problems in cars too. Hope yours goes away. I have a friend who perforated her hear drum. She didn't get tinnitus but she said that she lost some hearing which is slowly coming back. Maybe yours will heal too.

How long have you had it ?!
Does yours come and go!? I had it last month for 2'weeks. I did subside. Now I'm on my 5th day. So awful having these issues with no cure. So after you've got told it's not tmj have you just left if? Xx i hope yours gets better to.

@amymilly
i have notices that i would get a total buzzing sensation in my head when eating
monosodium glutamate, maybe it has to do with something you are eating.
What has that in it??!

Going to see a private ear specialist tonight gave in waiting I'll let you guys know what he says x

@Jkph75 My tinnitus started one month after a C-section too. Any ideas what may have happened for you during the C section/recovery?
My tinnitus started off as a low hum, made my ear feel full and there was a definite vibration. This was on and off for a week and has stayed away. Soon it was replaced by head noise, an electrical buzzing noise that I hate. Also drew my attention back to a mild ring I had in my right ear that I had habituated too and forgot about.
I've been told I have TMJ issues too, so having a day and night splint made. Also doing a sleep study as I am snoring out of control according to my husband.

I am not sure. I woke up with the tinnitus one day. Felt like I couldn't hear a few days later and got really dizzy a few days after that. Prednisone stops the dizziness. Guesses for me have been Labyrinthitis, Hydrops, and MAV, but nothing seems to fit neatly with any of them.

@Candy how very interesting about the snoring, there could be something there that is a link with the tinnitus.
I did snore when I was pregnant this time, and also in my previous pregnancy, but once my son was born, I stopped.
This time I haven't stopped.
I downloaded an app called 'snore lab', you can record yourself overnight, and it shows how you snored throughout. I was mortified. I am loud and snore to some degree through most of the night.
I also did a sleep study, recommended by my TMJ dentist. The guy that hooked me up mentioned that when I clenched my jaw, it didn't show the proper reading on his computer, and this was a sure sign of TMJ issues. Getting a night guard soon, so I will see if that makes a difference.
Might not fix the tinnitus, but it might help with my other issues. If it helps the tinnitus, I will be ecstatic. Also seeing a jaw physio and a chiropractor (chiro works with the dentist).
Also losing the rest of this baby weight, see if that makes a difference. Dentist ordered CT scan of my jaw and sinuses, chiro an x-ray of my spine. They have been very thorough. I see them on Wednesday and kind of hoping they found something that might explain all of this, including the tinnitus.
@Jkph75 so you don't think your tinnitus is due to the c-section/meds or post partum hormones? That's my other theory.

Very interesting...seems like u have a good team, still waiting for appointment with specialist dentist. Should have gone privately but it's hard to link it up with the NHS after that.
Might do the app thing. Need to lose a bit of weight been comfort eating...

@Samantha R

For me, hormones might be related. It certainly is making things worse, but my T is too loud to be just hormones. That could be the case for you though. Hope it gets better for you:)

I have the exact same forum of Tinnitus. Pain next to my ear, cramped jaw and Tinnitus is worse after a car ride. Get checked out for TMJ it might be a swollen jaw joint which is pushing on your ear causing the Tinnitus. It feels like there is fluid in the ears also but this is all caused by your jaw joint perhaps
