You know Telis, maby Shawshank quotes apply to tinnitus beautifully...for example-

ANDY: I guess it comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy living or get busy dying......

RED: Same old sh*t, different day.......

BROOKS: Easy peasy japanesey........ (Life with mild T)

ANDY: You know what the Mexicans say about the Pacific?
RED: No.
ANDY: They say it has no memory. That's where I want to live the rest of my life. A warm place with no memory.......

ANDY: Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies......

The Eye (Chinese version... So much better than the American version)

Oldboy (Korean ver... Highly recommended!)
Princess Mononoke
Spirited Away

Well, I think studio ghibli is alright. I've only seen spirited away, princess Mononoke, howls moving castle and ponyo. Though I love spirited away and princess Mononoke, I thought the other two were alright. I've never seen my neighbor totoro though. Lol

I've seen all of their films. You needs to see more, trust me, it's worth it.

I forgot to include the movie "GLORY" in my list. For those that haven't seen it, it's based on a true story and has a fantastic cast. In this scene, just before going into battle, the black soldiers of the Massachusetts 54th realize that they are finally accepted and respected as equals by the white soldiers.

Not in any particular order....

Sion Sono's Love Exposure is the best film I have seen over the last few years (though take care over the trailer as it's not suitable for viewing at work):

After that, it's.....
Blade Runner
Stalker
Mirror
Andrei Rublev
If....
Blow Up
The Sweet Smell of Success
Apocalypse Now
Battle for Algiers
The Ascent
Humanity and Paper Balloons
Hara Kiri (the original version)
Rumble Fish
Gomorrah
Korol Lir
Late Chrysanthemums
Rashomon
The Loyal 47 Ronin (Mizoguchi version)
The Long Day Closes
Distant Voices, Still lives
Offside!
The Red Riding Trilogy
The Human Condition Trilogy
All About Lily Chou Chou
The Draughtsman's Contract
Titus
The Sun's Burial

If u want something a little different , watch snowpiercer , that was quite good.

It's about how the world is frozen over and a train has the only humans left on the earth.

The train is dictated by soldiers and treat Some humans in the last carriage really badly ( think f third class citizens) and the third class citizens have enough , so they decide to fight their way through the train and each carriage has a different "surprise" waiting for them.

Sounds a little morbid, but it's got comedy in it, a lot of action in it and it's interesting.

I tried to get into blade runner, I just didn't like it :s.

Other goood movies :

Scar face
Death becomes her
Cloverfield Lane
Mad Max
interstellar
The Martian

Some great films represented here!
I love movies and would have a hard time nailing down my list to just a few.

For pure film craft (great writing, acting, cinematography, etc, all rolled into one)?

Apocalypse Now, as @InfiniteLoop mentioned.
Gone with the Wind
Citizen Kane
Amadeus
Hannah and Her Sisters
Das Boot
Alien (the original)
Mad Max Fury Road
Schindlers List

There are others...
I watch these films over and over and each time, notice something new about the way they are crafted.
