When Is Enough ENOUGH

Did your "Specialist" actually discuss the dehiscence finding with you, or failing that refer you on to someone who would understand it? It was sitting there, waiting for him to explain it which is why we have diagnostic tests (with special mention of the CT scan, which carries its own set of significant radiation risks). If he didn't address it then he has taken your money and not provided a service, and you have been irradiated for no good reason (unless you can get someone else to review the CT).

Hello,
I was randomly looking at the report of your CT scan.
You have a diagnosis of dehiscence over your left superior semicircular canal.
This could quite possibly be the cause of your brain fog, fatigue and some of your other symptoms.
Also the mean age at the time of diagnosis of this disease is around 45 years.
What did the doctors say about that?
Wow, I am glad you pointed this out. This is very possibly a contributing or complicating factor to the author's symptoms.

He explained it as best he could for me to understand. He brought a handful of students with him. He basically said that since that considering that the ringing was in both ears there would be no point working on it. Not to mention my insurance wouldn't pay for the scan so I had to fork out 2 grand for a 8 second ct scan. I have the scans on dvd but haven't found anyone else to check it out in my state. I never thought about going to anyone else because that's where the send everyone state wide. You really think I should get a second opinion? Just figured a specialist would know all.

I am not certain how your condition could be treated; however, I think fully understanding it would give you some peace of mind regarding why you are having particular symptoms. And give you a better idea of what to expect in the future.

Since the condition is already somewhat debilitating to you as you describe as there is nothing you can avoid to make this better, I would definitely investigate this further and research treatment options.
Ringing is nothing compared to what this disease can cause to someone from what I'm reading in the literature.
Also you don't really know how this condition will progress. You might be in the early stages or it might "luckily" remain the same.

I could see another specialist but it usually takes months to get an appointment and then 3 visits because they want to do it their way. Not to mention the cash which is running low. Damned if I do damned if I don't. Thanks thou you definitely have me thinking
