Basically, what are some thoughts you have to either overcome the negative emotions or relax? Also, can you do this and tune it out faster?

I used mental imagery technique described in my success story. It works for me but may not work for others. I mean if every loud spike is going to bring a mental blackhole for the rest of my life, I rather accept the mental imagery alternative to deal with the huge spikes. Check my success story 'From Darkness to Light...' for detail as I actually post some videos for this technique.

"The worst always passes, also this time"

"I have spent so much time agonizing and that never did anything, so I will skip that part this time"

If it's loud one day or spikes, just knowing it will not always be that way and that some days ahead will also be low is enough for me. Then I find something to do and do it which usually makes me forget about the spike in the first place.

have a beer, take an emergency shower for really bad spikes, clean the house, anything to put your attention elsewhere.

I'm going to start going to yoga again. I get so focused on my poses and listening to the teacher and any music they may play that I think it will really help my tinnitus. Yoga also makes my body feel better overall so that's an added bonus.

I do a lot of things others here do.

What I also do is just try to offer it up to God. I say "Jesus, I surrender this to you; You take care of it". It helps me tremendously.

Hey what do you guys think about this statement: I don't hear it anymore in all those past days that it bothered me. Why not view today from the viewpoint of tomorrow looking back on today?
