Tinnitus Since
may 2014
Since I'm back from vacation, I notice a change in my Tinnitus. It started 2 days after my vacation. I went to Spain with the plane. I had a lot of environmental noise. As a result, I could not relax. I was / am afraid of additional damage. I have already had 3.5 years of Tinnitus. But for a week or three, I notice a woosh sound on the beat of my heartbeat. This is not all day but it makes me very nervous and anxious. I can not relax anymore.

I know that I've had this in the very beginning and that it has been pulled away after a while.

Now I notice that when I bring my ear to my shoulder, my noise gets harder. Also during the walk I hear a whoos whoos sound in my ear. I had this in the beginning as well.

Would this still go away? Would it come because I am very stressed now?
I notice also more pressure in my ears.

need some advice.

Hi Sandra

Hope you enjoyed your holiday

Could be any number of things but pressure in the ears suggests blocked ears which might explain why you hear whooshing. Best to get checked out by your GP/ENT

The feeling of fullness in your ears could have to do with a Eustachian tube imbalance, which may go away in time. I have both tinnitus and pulsatile tinnitus, and I had the feeling of pressure/fullness when my pulsating first started. However, that feeling went away after I had it for some time, although the pulsating remains.

The whooshing may be caused by a number of things, so it might be a good idea to get checked out. If your ENT is unable to help, you might consider a neurologist or neurotologist, who might have some additional suggestions. Many times, intermittent pulsating can go away; it depends on the cause. Have you ever heard of benign intracranial hypertension? You might want to look that up, to see if you have any of the symptoms.

Best wishes,
Karen
