Cause of Tinnitus
loud noises, ringing came back 12/2018 after 1year of silent
With what kind of tinnitus would you be satisfied or able to live with? I mean like for example these kind of situations (not a poll):

1) volume going from chainsaw to 5/10
2) fewer tones, not living with multiple different tones in the head
3) no hyperacusis and no ear pain
4) not living in fear
5) being able to think and do things I used to
6) habituate
7) not living with reactive tinnitus
8) if I could mask my tinnitus ot would be OK
9) silent silent, 0/1000 kind of tinnitus, no ANY volume at all, complete silence
10) silent enough so you would not hear it even in a quiet room (tinitus volume would be below room ambient noise dB)
11) "back to the kind of tinnitus that I had previously"
12) your own, jus write it and submit

Well, yes, of course no hyperacusis.

STABLE T. It doesn't react, it doesn't spike. You can attend your best friend's wedding or see a movie. No spikes, no worsening. No living in fear.

Tbh, my current tinnitus sounds are livable. It's the lack of stability, the spikes, the reactivity, the worsenings, that get to me. It's like...having a phantom noise isn't enough. You have to go through all this other bs on top of it.

Tones. Are important. At present, due to reactivity, I can hear my T sound everywhere. But the sound is, as of this post not bad. It reminds me of water running through pipes currently. The closer your T sounds to white noise, the easier it will be to habituate.

Of course, volume too. Tinnitus needs to be in the background, not the forefront. I need to be able to hear. Which I can. My T is not loud, just behaves badly.

Thissss! It melts into the background when it is white noise, it's just pleasant

Ye and spikes and all, just gotta be careful all the time and try to not make it worse and it's all you can think..like in every new situation you gotta think if it affects the T :( SUX

Yes! I agree. Mi father have bad hearing (sudden hearing loss) but his T is "white noise" type. He lives a normal life and never talks about his sounds.

We don't have the luxury, to choose most of the time. I live and manage with whatever condition I am facing.

Was a hypothetical question :barefoot: like wud u be ok with 8

Just the damn pitch to not be so high, I could mask it easily with everyday things, but the pitch always pieces through any masker.

Just want to sleep, and not be dviven insane 24 7. Sit and watch TV, relax once in a while, that's it.

The tinnitus I had between 1999-2013. It was somewhere between mild and moderate, but most importantly it was stable and I didn't have hyperacusis then. It could go years between the times I even thought about my tinnitus. I was 200% habituated to it. Nowadays it's louder and fluctuates a lot and on some days it's reactive but the hyperacusis is my biggest problem so I guess my choice from the list would be 3.

I had T from 2004 until 2013, it was only noticeable in really quiet areas and no noticeable hearing loss. In 2013 it changed into a constant loud white noise with trouble hearing. If I could get anything close to where it was before, I'd be ecstatic!

Tinnitus that could only be heard in a silent enviroment or a close to silent enviroment and only mild hyperacusis. I am "living" with it worse, but it is often not a fun life.

I would be ok with mild tinnitus that you can only hear in a very quiet room. My current tinnitus is moderate, like a 5-6/10 (I can hear it in moderately loud environments). It is also extremely reactive. I have to use masking when I want to watch tv or work because I can't focus without it (luckily masking works quite well for me). So I guess I can live with my current level, but I am not satisfied with it and I still absolutely hate it.
