Worried About Rumbling Sound

There are people who have rumbling sounds for years without any further problems. I have had a loud hum for 7 months now pretty much non stop without hearing loss or other issues. Doesn't mean I won't get vertigo or deafness at some point but worrying about it is self-defeating.
Thanks so much. I just wanted to know if it was even possible.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Your little boy does need you. Having my kids is what led me to my ear problems, but no matter what happens they are worth all of it:)

Very true and that's what we all need to remind each other of when members of our group are suffering. Your little ones need you as well, whether this is hydrops or not. :)

My otologist said 80% of people with menieres control it via strict salt intake or non invasive methods like a meniett device etc or steroids. Where further control is needed, gentamicin is helping many people (15% or so) without needing actual surgery (Although this does risk hearing loss). He said only the worst 5% of people are needing actual surgeries like VNS and Laby where the inner ear is severed.

Some people are getting a lot of help from anti-virals as well, although he doesn't personally believe in the viral theory.

Agreed:) I wasn't even thinking of cashing it in though. Minus the ear thing, I love my life.

That's for the vertigo. There's nothing they can do for the tinnitus or hearing loss supposedly.

Thought I would tell you that I noticed that the rumble either stops or goes away when I am moving. It works itself up when I sit or lay down. Makes it hard to relax but I guess I get more done. Also, I noticed that it will stop when I yawn. I can hear better then too. After the yawn, it all just comes back. Have you noticed any of that?

My noise goes away when I hum and yawn and gets really loud when I lie down or put my head back, so it sounds very similar to yours. Honestly, I have one doctor saying TTTS and it's muscle spasms, another saying hydrops and another saying obesity, who really knows.

I don't know if our sounds are the same though, mine is like bass type noise, sometimes thunder sounding. It is not one steady continuos tone.

It's a really low sound. It can sound slightly different depending upon that I am doing. If I am standing up it's more like a thunder or rumble. If I lay down sometimes it's continuous. Right now, I'm sitting down after exercising and it's a continuous sound. It sounds like I'm sitting next to a loud truck. When it gets really loud, it there's like a metal grinding sound in it. Idk but it's frightening. I think you just don't have it bad enough yet to get the nonstop sound.

I don't know, I know people should be careful what they wish for but I would rather a continous sound. The pulsating nature of mine makes it harder to ignore. It's like... b b b b b b b b b b boooom b b b b b boom boom boom boom b b b b b. It's just so difficult to push out of mind.

Anyway, what am I saying, it's all crappy.

It gets louder when it's continuous. Then it's like your head is vibrating. If you get lucky enough, you can tell me which you prefer later;)

Is there anything which masks yours?
Yeah my other tinnitus lol. Other sound pushes it down. It's hard to explain. It's not masking it. It actually makes it quieter. As long as I'm moving, it's not that loud or not there. If I sit down or lay down and try to relax, it gets super loud. At that point, I can't mask it. I don't even try. I have 2 little ones, so I don't sit much. Then, I take a muscle relaxer to sleep.

@Paulie87
I think that I may have intracranial hypertension too, although Idk what it could be from. I wonder if neck problems could cause it. Anyways did they tell you anything to do other than lose weight. I don't think losing weight would help me.
