Would You Pay $2800 for a Chance at Clearing Your Tinnitus?

hi luckyman 316, I went and gpt mouth measured and had the tens for an hour and the day I went in my tinnitus was about a 1 so it was a good day for me, it really hasn't been any louder.. I asked the dentist about the battery effect and he said it wouldn't cause any problems... im thinking of getting my almagams out in the future ,afraid to get shots in jaw (afraid it will make tinnitus louder).. im going to get my splint though, its to move lower jaw forward, and im kinda nervous about that too... hope it works cuz it was 2900 !:nailbiting::greedy:

Jeannie, just wanted to see how you're doing a month later with this stuff. Anything to share?

I would pay $2800 if my tinnitus would go away and stay away, guaranteed. If t was the only reason for this operation I would not do it. Just my 1/100 x 2800 cents ;)

well I got my splint for my tmj , and have had it for 3 days , the first night my tinnitus went away when I layed down at bedtime, the next day I had it at about a 4-5 and today it has been a 1-2, but I noticed the noise is softer when I have it. im praying it will take care of my tinnitus.. so far so good. first night neck was normal , felt good. yesterday my neck was achy and shoulders. today it feels halfway decent...:) thanks luckyman 316.. im glad I got the splint.how are you doing?

In the UK there is the "daddy" of TMJ dentists the top man , he starts with bite plates ,then moves on to Braces the treatment can take three years and costs £10k ....... I have done so much research on this and wish I had the 10k ive done thousand s on my t and cant do it anymore.

He said my lower jaw is way too far into my ears causing all sorts of issues.

Real TMJD is no quick fix.

I would spend a fortune to get rid of my T, but I am not sure a TMJD specialist would do it. But if you have the money go for it.

Also I guess it depends in how bad your T is.

I've just spent a lot of money at the dentist in the hope it would help my Tand it seems to have made things worse for me. I had some implants out that I thought caused my T (still think they did ) but the noise is now in my brain and it's made no difference - sounds louder now infact.

I would just try a splint. I tried one but it didn't help. The only TMJ issue I had was a small mouth opening, no jaw pain

I have bad TMJ and my jaw cracks and crunches all the time .
I wear a mouth guard at night but need it in the day now also as that's the only time when it's in my jaw feels inline .
When people hear it ,it goes through them .
I might end up having a TMJ jaw regiment but I know my ears won't get any better as I have Menieres too....lots of love glynis

I went to the best TMJ Specialist in my state. Ironically, the guy was right down the road from me. I told him all my symptoms and he checked my bite. Sure enough, my oen side was touching before the other. He said after my dental work, my bite remained off and he had an alternative approach to correct it and also solve my clenching issue. After all said and done, he threw a price at me of about $2800 to "help" with everything but there was no guarantee it fixes everything. Debating what I should do. The whole process is a matter of 3 appoints, being hooked up to a TENS machine to realign my bite and jaw into the right position. Thoughts?
A $300 mouthguard helped my T a lot. Maybe start there.
