Dear All,

What are your small pleasures in life?

For example, to appreciate a landscape, the nature, birds singing, etc... :)

I try to learn more and more to appreciate those small pleasures in life, instead of nourish this consumer society! :p

Wish you a beautiful week!

All the Best!

Christophe

I have quite a few, Christophe.:)

I love to take long walks and by that I mean l o n g walks. It is not unusual for me to lose track of the time. At least I am able to find my way home, lol!

I like to go to the animal shelter and drop off much needed cat food. When I am there I always ask if I can sit in the cat compound and keep them company for a while. I hold them and pet them and play with them. This makes them feel a little better and it does me a world of good. My mind, for that short time, is off of my own struggles.

What a lovely idea for a thread!

I've started to reconnect with old friends. I was a bit depressed before tinnitus and closed off to most people over the past few years. Hearing an old friends voice or seeing their text does wonders for my mood.

I'm actually reading a newspaper now, too. No longer depending on the phone as my news source. Takes me back to a place before the iphone, when life seemed a lot easier. And of course the paper is a good distraction as well!

Seeing my children and my grandchildren, and on leaving them, reminding them that I love them all so much.......and hearing them so 'I love you too.'
xx

Watching my boys, 6 and 1, play and laugh together...they can both crack each other up to the point where tears are streaming down their faces they are laughing so hard.

Also....a really good glass of wine!!

Spending time with my lovely grandsons.
Took my brother holiday clothes shopping with my sister he didn't know what hit him and was fun re vamping his wardrobe and he loved it as lived with my mum this time last year but it's a year next month she passed away and now lives alone now,he enjoyed the fuss..:D

Dear emmalee,

Thank you for sharing your pleasures in Life ! :)

The animal shelter seems good for you AND also for the animals who need attention...

The long walks are good, especially in a quiet place, far away from all the very noisy cities !

So nice to see kids laughing this much ! :)

Especially between brothers and sisters !

And I agree for the glass of (good) wine... ;)

I also like to look for beautiful pics of Animals ! :)

Right now quite a few things. I have struggled with reocurring depressive episodes since my late teens. Right now I'm not depressive though so I just appreciate the abillity to be happy and feel it in my entire body and feel it for hours and hours. It is truly amazing when one is so used to feeling numb and hopeless!
Other than that spending time with my friend is one thing I really appreciate. And reading and writing and spending time in creative envoirnments (which I'm not sure I've spelled right  )

Yes spending time with friends is very important to me as well ! :)

Even if sometimes I would prefer staying in a calm environment... :/

Reading helps me relax a lot but I don't do it enough...

@SugarMagnolia:I was a fan too. I saw them on Miami Beach in 1968. It was the first concert where nobody danced. We were just mesmerized, sitting there. That was when Pigpen was with the group. He died in 73. That was the only time I saw them live. But I knew plenty of deadheads. They would follow the band everywhere.
