Hey all!

Back in February of this year I tried going on Zoloft 50 mg for anxiety and OCD. I developed hyperacusis after only two days. I stopped on the 3rd day, but have been dealing with hyperacusis ever since.

It has gotten a lot better so I decided to try it again! Lol.

Welp! Again, day two of 50 mg, my hyperacusis is worse as it was in February. Crazy inner ear pain too! So now I know for a fact, I can't take this stuff. Let the healing commence.

It will heal. It did once and it will heal again. It's too bad the Zoloft affects your tinnitus negatively, but at least we know that tinnitus is somehow connected with serotonin and dopamine levels and hopefully the studies being done in the Rauschecker lab (and others) will eventually give us more insight into the chronic pain/tinnitus/neurotransmitter connection.

Have you recovered? How long did it take for the pain hyperacusis to get better?

Also, did Zoloft have any impact on your tinnitus?
