100 years from now (when tinnitus will be cured with some over-the-counter med) people will look back and wonder how people could ever manage to live with T during our era.
Happy (USA) Thanksgiving, TT community! Learned from my dad today he has had tinnitus for several years and his got worse from Covid. Sure would have been nice to know from him several years ago 😂. Nice to have a family member who knows what it's like, though.
A spine doctor that fused my back mentioned using DMSO for my tinnitus. It is liquid and I put some by my ear/ jaw area with a pad.
I had one great day and seemed back to normal only to turn noisy again. No easy fix. I might try Cymbalta but hate side effects.
Hello Furetto,
I'm feeling a little better, although I still have a lot of ups and downs and I still hear my tinnitus a lot and it often bothers me. However, I have started my professional reintegration and have also started treatment with Dr Hubbard. I have also joined another forum in the meantime. That's why you haven't seen me here for many weeks. Regardless, I have always found contact with you nice and helpful!
Man. It's just exhausting. It always seems to be: worry/stress about other stuff + this condition. The fucking cherry on top.
Wax removal again, similar to last year, some distortions to sound and sound sensitivity. definitely Not half as bad. Two different techniques used.
Was doing really great the last six months or so. Just had somebody scream in my ear (full volume) over the weekend. So my ears are ringing pretty loud again. Pretty frustrating to have this condition.
Hej. Jak tam twoje uszy?

Hey thanks for asking! My ears are ok I guess no drastic changes that I've noticed. It's always a bit stressful though going outside. Especially because of the problem I mentioned earlier :/
Quite a rowdy day, was around a lot of noise unfortunately, very close to some loud construction site. I had earplugs but yeah, constantly having to adjust them so they sit correctly is definitely a problem... Kind of debating if I should go back to the simple foam ones, at least they stay in my ears.
One year with T and H with zero improvements. At least no significant worsenings. Maybe some day I will be able to open semi plastic packaging again
Yesterday was my first year anniversary of my T. November 30th is anniversary of my H after the doctor visit lol
Hey how is your distortions dysacusis? can it improve i am 29 yo.

Actually yes, mine got back to normal, I'm very Lucky though, but today at Best buy someone was playing loud regetón music all night and afterwards lots of sounds ended up sounding like the music it's weird bro but it always goes away

pain that accompanies you for several hours or days. it is triggered by normal activities such as eating chips or an empty stomach, as well as brushing teeth and many other everyday sounds.

Can i ask you something how can i know if i have nox or not ? What type of pain.
Hello. I was curious if your still using Gabapantin and klonopin and how they are working for you? Or if you have found any other med cocktails as I'm struggling with severe catestrophic tinnitus that only seems to get relief from Gabapantin, benzo, baclofen)
I took this year's flu and Covid boosters on Thursday afternoon. My tinnitus was spiked a bit Thursday night and Friday, but today (Saturday) it is back to my baseline. I'm grateful for health care that protects me from getting seriously ill from viruses!
Something simple like buying a new pair of shoes now has become a real challenge. Not sure if I won't to visit a shop.
Because T is on the edge of the damaged frequenties (possible interaction inner and outer HC's?) my hope is eventually T will reduce because more HC's die due to aging. Maybe I'm at peak T. At least I still have hope.
Thinking of you. How are you?

@Pinhead, where do you live? Are you able to work?
Pinhead
I live in the U.S. Unfortunately I have to work in order to afford any basic standard of life, although my CEO and directors have discussed my departure in indirect terms. I think I'm done. My efforts in life only seem to make things considerably worse over time. Nothing has worked out in my favor in any sense.

@Pinhead, I'm working part-time at my old job. I'm still in a very bad situation. It's like death, but I'm not dead.
ENT said to me it isnt a surprise I havent heard in few weeks because I had so much fluid in ear and eutachian tube issues. The fluid was removed with myringotomy, now from other ear.
Sointu
It was myringotomy without tubes. I was prescribed steroid nasal spray to help with blocked eutachian tubes and I have to keep my fingers crossed that the fluid does not come back, I am feeling optimistic. Yes, the hearing improved after the procedure but I am not sure if the hearing is in the normal level after all what I went through last weeks.
LukeYoung
@Sointu any reason they did not put tubes?
Sointu
@LukeYoung My condition has improved without tubes luckily. The fluid did not come back.
After 11 months of Tinnitus today I won a game. I was silent for almost an hour. The fight continued.
Hey buddy - I had my appointment with Dr. Stefane Maison at Mass Eye and Ear and signed paperwork to join a future trial for CIL001 if it becomes available. Dr. Maison mentioned hidden hearing loss or cochlear synaptopathy as possible causes of my tinnitus and hyperacusis. Their auditory research lab is top-notch, and I hope they keep getting funding to advance their work in this noisy world.
