  • Just a quick update. I'm still doing good guys. I ate at a pretty loud restaurant tonight and I'm okay. No setback or nothing.

That's great to hear mate, onwards and upwards with progress! :)
I wanted to share that I had a good nights rest. I am feeling better today. The refrigerator and AC noises no longer bother me. Progress.

A solid nights rest is the best thing for this battle. Slow breathing exercises also greatly help me when sleep is low. Glad you are rested and feeling better. Good job.
I've been going through this for 8 months now. I haven't even told my family or friends yet. Only my gf knows. I live alone trying mybest

@snizzleberry, Man, this was really impossible for me because my family and friends had never seen me down, hating life, or withdrawn, so I felt like I had to explain everything. But now I'm tired of it, so I'm trying not to talk about it much anymore.

Tell your family and friends. That is, in my view, what friends and family are for. If they can't handle it, it's their loss.
@snizzleberry Hang in there. You and I have similar issues, with distortions and TTTS and all of that. Mine improved after the first year, and my TTTS was absent most of this year. Having a flare up of it right now, but it's happened before and eventually goes away. Hopefully yours subsides!

Thank you so much @PennyCat appreciate you. It's been a long 8 months for sure. Up and down, all around with my neck head injury too before this all even started. I'll hopefully write a more detailed story at some point.
This condition is so weird I swear. I wake up today and my T is so low that even when I plug my ears I can't really hear it.
    crescentsky
I think it may be a good sign that it'll eventually go away completely.
Anyone get morse code beeps that go over other sounds?
    snizzleberry
How's your tinnitus now? I have hyperacusis and ttts as well @PennyCat
    Pinhead
Yes, this is the main form of my tinnitus. It makes most things disabling. Can't be in cars or trains or near A/C or heating systems. The beeps become EEEEEEEEEE
    PennyCat
@snizzleberry My tinnitus is actually worse than it was at onset; I had periodic worsening every 3 months for the first year. However, for the most part, I cope with it better. The distortions have lessened over time as I mentioned. My TTTS was bad for the first year; it's been mostly nonexistent this year, but I am having a flare up with it now which is causing some anxiety.
Been pushing my ears hard this week lol. Just picked up my gf from the Brightline station. She rode the train down from Orlando.
Had a good day today after that dry needling and massage yesterday. H symptoms were down and I was able to do stuff.
People with H what are your LDL's? I can handle around 90's. I checked my decibel app and it was clocking in around 92 max at the mall.

60-70 db. It also depends on the sound itself. Semi-plastic wraps are uncomfortable event at 20 db. The wind and rain sounds are comfortable up to 60-65 db. However, I can't be in a car without earplugs and earmuffs. 70 db on a highway is very uncomfortable
    snizzleberry
Yeah it depends on the sound for sure. Loud sudden slams trigger me the most. Plastic bottles too and cellphone speakers but I've been getting better at that one. @_shoto
    weehiru
I wince at anything over 70db these days...
Did dry needling today and some manual massage therapy. Always feel better after. I was able to go to the mall after and have dinner there
People slamming the weights and machines loud trigger my H and people slamming stuff loud in general. Does that bother you guys?
The gym spiked my H and ttts today fml. Fullness and sore ears after. Should I go when it's more empty or wear anc headphones there?
As much better as I've gotten since this all started. Which is 7 months ago. I'm still sad I can't be care free and relaxed as before.
    weehiru
Here's to the coming months hopefully being easier for you mate !
    El BUZZ
Hi mate! Think this: As loud as life is nowadays, no one should be care free and relaxed when noise around. Cheers.

I was driving with my windows down. This car with an obnoxious exhaust saw me and drove fast and let off a serious backfire. Ouch, im okay
Does anyone else live alone with these conditions?
    weehiru
Not alone, but with a housemate who works a lot. It's hard when there's no one there to fill in the noise !
Has anyone else's H faded a lot? I'm hopeful of the trajectory I've been seeing in my progress. I used to have pain in my ears months ago.
Working on my muscle tension and anxiety with breathing exercises. It really helps me progress my recovery. Hyperacusis is really fading.
I realize this condition is like a roller coaster. It's up and down. You gotta take the good days with the bad. The anxiety sucks though.
TGIF. It's been a bit since I posted. I finally got my teeth cleaned at the dentist just now and I survived. Stringing good days together
Did some dry needling and massage yesterday with my physical therapist. Feel so much better today. My H and T come from muscle tension.
Some days I feel good and some days I feel bad. Been having some bad days lately. I'm sorry if I ever offended anyone for being severe.
    weehiru
Never apologise for expressing your emotions authentically with this - That's what communities like this one is for :)
I think I pushed it too much today. My head hurts. Hoping for a good sleep tonight. Goodnight everyone.
    Utdmad89
I'd be careful. Mu pain started with daily headaches, now jas morphed into ear pain from not very loud sounds.
    snizzleberry
@Utdmad89 yeah I'm better today. Got some sleep last night. Been having these headaches on and off from my neck injury nerve damage. I'm being careful now though for sure. Thank you. Hope you feel better.
God dammit. The H is damn near gone and TTTS so much better. But this lingering T is here. Should I be grateful I'm getting better?
    MindOverMatter
I think the answer says itself @snizzleberry Your should be extremely grateful. But you should NOT return to everything you did before. It can backfire any time.
    crescentsky
seems like a good sign. maybe with time, T will also fade.
Damn last night I couldn't sleep smh. Only got like 4-5 hours lol. I realize I can't use my tower fan yet. It reacts or spikes my T
H has faded a lot for me. I don't wear earplugs. Blessed for that. This mild Morse code high pitch t is just bugging me.
