Earmuffs That Won't Make Me Look Like a Lunatic When Going Out?

I use the MDR 1000x nc headphones when commuting as well as other instances when loud sudden noises may occur. Not cheap by any means but the noise cancelling as well as audio quality on those is stellar and they look hella stylish too. Otherwise at bars, parties or loud restaurants i just use...

A Simple TMJ Question: Opening Jaw Causes a Massive Loud Click Following Small Clicks

I know that they are used to relax your jaw and ease tension. I grind/press my teeth when i sleep and when I'm stressed. So that's how I got it. But stretching your jaw every now and then should be beneficial for everyone who is prone to stress/anxiety.

A Simple TMJ Question: Opening Jaw Causes a Massive Loud Click Following Small Clicks

I posted it some months back in the positivity thread. But I'll repost it here. Hope it helps you as much as it helped me! 1. Jog with your jaw by moving it up, down and side to side for a couple of seconds. Your teeth should never touch when doing this. 2. Open your jaw as far as you can and...

A Simple TMJ Question: Opening Jaw Causes a Massive Loud Click Following Small Clicks

Do you get jaw pains? Is the Tinnitus louder in the left ear? If you haven't already I'd try contacting a Jaw specialist of some kind. I've had TMJD for as long as I've had Tinnitus and Hyperacusis. And after i got to see a specialist who gave me a night guard as well as some stretching...

I use a Night guard, anti inflamatory medication and stretch a couple times a week. I posted my stretching routine on page 29 in this thread if you want to check it out. Helped me a ton:)

I'm just over 1 year into my tinnitus journey, and it has lowered itself steadily to about 25% of what it used to be. I can sit in a dead silent room without thinking much of it, and my H has also dropped significally after I started working on improving my tmjd symptoms. For the first time in...

I flew for the first time since my onset last week. No worsening of my symptoms whatsoever! :) My H was actually lowered for a couple days post flying (weirdly). :D

Hyperacusis Spike After Loud Buzzer Goig Off Next to My Ear But Tinnitus Lowered

Usually ear pain (at least for me). Imagine the kind of discomfort you feel when you accidentally turn up your headphones to max volume, but from "normal level sounds". However, this doesn't account for all sufferers. There are people experiencing a wide range of symptoms due to hyperacusis...

Hyperacusis Spike After Loud Buzzer Goig Off Next to My Ear But Tinnitus Lowered

T is tinnitus while H is short for hyperacusis. Or in other words, sensitivity to certain frequencies and decibel levels that normal hearing people don't react to. The loudness discomfort level (LDL) for a person without hyperacusis is usally between 100-120db give or take 10db, I don't have the...

Hyperacusis Spike After Loud Buzzer Goig Off Next to My Ear But Tinnitus Lowered

Hey everyone! The weirdest thing happened a couple hours ago which I can't seem to find any logic in whatsoever. I was at my girlfriends place, waiting for her to come home. I was walking through the hallway, when all of a sudden the doorbell went off when i was maybe 0,5m from the sound source...

    New Tone in Left Ear

Thanks for your answer Luke! I'm glad to say that the new tone was gone upon waking up this morning. :) I really need to stop worrying about these spikes/temporary worsenings of symptoms. They really do still get to me even after 5 months. I wish you a further good week ;)

    New Tone in Left Ear

Hey. A couple weeks ago I posted about having weird sharp pains in my left ear which went up and down, but where always there to some degree. The pain has now gone away thankfully. But today in class, something weird happened. I was working on a project with a classmate, not even noticing my...

I wish you the best of luck with your studies (and life) as well. :) Don't worry, it only goes uppwards from 1 month in. I bet you will barely be affected by it in 3 months ;)

What ultimately worked for me in terms of study methods were the most simple things. Due to my TMJD I suffer a lot the following day if I don't get at least 7-8 hours of sleep. So the first thing i had to work out was planning everything in advance, and doing things little by little rather than...

    The Positivity Thread

I've had huge problems concentrating in school this semester because of my T, H and Tmjd I got at the end of July this year. But after much trial and error I have found a study method that works just as good as the one i used before the onset :) . One of my biggest fears when all this started...
