  • Has anyone developed serious TMJ symptoms after an acoustic trauma? No H, but pain when when talking and chewing+flutters. TMJ MRI/CT normal
I'd be fine with just the tinnitus. But how can noise cause TMJ symptoms? Never had jaw pain, go to club, pain with talking, chewing, no H.

I know I've asked this on the "Support" page, but if anyone has dealt with something similar or has any ideas, I'm all ears (or at least if they aren't hurting). Dentist wants me to get an MRI of my TMJ, but I just find it such a stretch.

I've had a slightly deviated mandible for years, but it never caused problems and is hard to notice. More of a congenital thing I think.
Sitting in silence and the tinnitus seems more distant. Softer. Like light chimes. Might just be habituation, but I much prefer this.

Like light chimes. i have died and gone to heaven
No progress in terms of loudness (12 weeks since club), but it's not bothering me as much. Obviously would rather it fade—giving it time!
Is it a good sign for T to be quieter in the morning? Goes from barely audible to a distinct ring a few hours later. Wasn't always the case.

That's great news! How long have you had t? It very slowly was staying at a lower level longer but I had a setback last week so I've gone backwards. From what I hear a low hiss is a good noise to have, keep it coming.

About 11 weeks @New Guy! Noise induced from a club. Hope things keep improving.

It sounds like you're on the right path. I wish you continued success!
