Pain Management and Risk of Ototoxicity in Tinnitus Patients

I would have to agree with you, @JackJ. I have learned that most NSAIDs can be highly ototoxic to susceptible individuals. And I do not want to risk it as well at least at this point.

Pain Management and Risk of Ototoxicity in Tinnitus Patients

Hello Fellow Warriors, One of my greatest worries has finally come. That is, taking NSAIDs and other meds that could potentially exacerbate my existing tinnitus and hyperacusis. I have been prescribed Pregabalin (Lyrica) 75 mg x 1 for two months and Meloxicam (Mobic) 15 mg for one week. In...

Clonazepam for Myoclonic Jerks at Night

Thank you very much for your insight at sharing you story, @linearb. The MS thing came to mind after reading articles and watching tons of videos about it. I must admit that T has made me quite a hypochondriac. My neuro advised me yesterday to do more meditation to avoid thinking about health...

Thank you for your comment, @IAmCalifornia. I guess I have been reading too much on the Internet - and further feeding my health anxiety. Do you still experience myoclonic jerks? How did you manage them? Warm regards, Albert

Clonazepam for Myoclonic Jerks at Night

Hello, I have been away from this forum and am now back and could use some encouragement. Last first week of March, after three consecutive nights of less than three hours of sleep, I was not able to sleep at all in the next three nights. I developed myoclonic jerks when I was attempting to...

    Phosphatidylserine for Tinnitus

Hello, I am wondering if anyone on Tinnitus Talk has taken Phosphatidylserine to help curb tinnitus symptoms? My ENT doctor has mentioned that it may help. I am wary of taking supplements actually ever since tinnitus started. Thanks in advance. Truly, Albert

Tinnitus Likely from Gentamicin — My Intro Post

Hello @Christopher805, Thank you very much for your empathy. We really need it in a world full of uncertainties. I am in a bad place right now because I have been experiencing myoclonus (severe muscle jerks and twitching) when I am about to sleep - and I could not underscore enough how it is...

Tinnitus Likely from Gentamicin — My Intro Post

God bless you and your daughter @Tre92. It's amazing how God answer our prayers. Gentamicin is a type of aminoglycoside, which is known be ototoxic. I hope and pray that your tinnitus would gradually get better in time, in Jesus' name. Warm regards, Albert

Sudden Loud Breathing While Trying to Sleep

Hi @MBH! It happens when I am trying to get back to sleep. I also hear some crackling sound but I am not sure if it is my eustachian tube or my throat. I can mimic the sound when I inhale deeply with my throat. I also have some cold and cough. It happens very quickly when I am half...

Sudden Loud Breathing While Trying to Sleep

Hello @LukeYoung! Initially I thought about patulous ET but I think ETs tend to be closed when one is lying down. I do not have the classic symptoms but I am not totally eliminating that possibility. Sleep apnea is a good guess, too. I sometimes snort when sleeping. I am hoping that this...
