It's been nearly 48 hours post my first Pfizer shot. Everything seems OK so far. Still no real impact on my tinnitus. I am almost starting to believe that I will be fine in the end. Fingers crossed. I was so nervous about the vaccine increasing my tinnitus since the cause of my tinnitus is...

Hello! It has been a while since I have written here! I wanted to share my experience. I received my first Pfizer shot yesterday. I hesitated quite a lot. My tinnitus is due to ototoxic meds and I know I have to be careful whenever I take something new. So anyway, I got it and so far so good...

Is Loprox (Ciclopirox) Ototoxic? Can It Make Tinnitus or Hearing Loss Worse?

Hello all, I am about to meet with a podiatric doctor next week. I am a runner and have been having problems with my toenails for several years. It is very possible that the doctor will prescribe a medicine called LOPROX so that my toenails return to normal. I haven't found much about...

Ototoxicity-Induced Tinnitus — The Worst Kind?

My T was caused a first by anti-depressants and the increase by antibiotics. I'm happy to say that although it was very loud at first in both cases, I have habituated 99%. It never went away but it decreased at least.

    Living with Loud Tinnitus

My T is between 50 and 60 db. The pitch is low/medium, therefore, I can still mask it fairly easily but if I focus on it, even with masking, I still hear it. I live a normal life 98% of the time.

    Worst Nightmare Coming True

Amox is supposed to be quite safe...I would think that the clavulanic was the cause then... In the future, if you are not allergic to penicillin, that's what you should take for infections. I have taken it numerous times since having T with no consequences. The fact that your humming sound...

    Worst Nightmare Coming True

@Jamie Just so you know, it will most likely go down by the way. But like I mentionned, it took about 6 months for me. The increase was MAJOR. I had mild T for 7 years, from 2007 to 2014 and I was 100% habituated. The increase caused my T to be louder than a shower and city traffic + it...

    Worst Nightmare Coming True

@Jamie Hello, could you confirm the antibiotics that you took for your ear? I happen to have taken an antibiotics in 2014 for an ear infection after having T for 7 years prior to that. The antibiotics caused a HUGE increase which took several months to "heal". Actually, it took nearly 6...

Hello!! Twice habituated here... once in 2007 at onset (cause: meds) and a second time to a new louder T (cause: meds). I think it was harder the second time actually and a bit longer... As of today, I am 98% habituated to this new louder and more annoying T. Life is good :)

Positive Experience: I Went to a Concert Last Night

@Greg Clarke Thank you for sharing your experience!! I bet it was a relief to feel NORMAL again, wasn't it? I had the same experience last year, I went to an outdoor concert (Maroon 5), about one month after a terrible T increase due to medication... I was so worried but wore ear plugs and had a...

Do You Always Check If Tinnitus Is There When You Wake Up?

I do not check my T every morning anymore neither do I plug my ears. I know it's there and I try to live as normally as possible.
