  • How could one stop smoking and listening to music in a world full of cigarettes and headphones?
Listening to Aloe Blacc on my headphones...... I am an idiot but I can't help myself. I LOVE music in my ears.
    BadratDay
As long as the volume is low I guess it will be alright

I have to graduate... I only need to write my thesis... But I am so unmotivated .. I just don't like what I study anymore and this had a terrible impact on my health.... I wanna do something else... but I need to overcome this bloody obstacle and I am such an idiot that I can't just write this shit and move on.... Tinnitus only made things worse...
    cspc
I havent graduated either. I have to write my thesis and do a computer progam.
I feel like my ears just can't stand the sounds anymore. They are so tired and want a replacement. it is not even tinnitus that bothers me.
Ears have taken the only Joy from my life: listening to music. IT improved my mood a lot. Now, I Just gotta learn to cope without it.
it would be awesome if they would grow new hair cells and then just put them into your ear. How cool would that be.
    Contrast
The hair cells are not transplanted they grow entirely inside the cochlea. Frequency Therapeutics is using the progenitor cell activators naturally found in the intestines to activate existing PCA cells in the cochlea.

I know that... This was Just an idea..IT has nothing to do with Frequency therapeutics
Is there anyone who benefited from ginkgo biloba? I ve been taking this for a month and nothing.

I have problems with hearing peole that have a very soft voice in noisy places. I sometimes think that IT is their fault and not my T.
    threefirefour
I never understood this. Why is this a common problem with tinnitus? I never have these issues.
    Apolonia
Maybe because of hearing loss???... But I really do believe that these People talk not very loud... And they don't even try to raise their voice...
    cspc
I have this problem too. It's because of hearing loss in frequencies larger than 8Khz.
@Contrast Who says CI reduces tinnitus? People still hear tinnitus even with CI. Regenerating HC won't be enough, in my opinion....
    Contrast
You are right, reversing hearing loss would also require restrengthening synaptic connections and repairing a damaged audiotory nerve as well. The hair cells infact are the most durable where as the hair cell to nerve synapse is the first to be insulted.
    cspc
Nerves might take up to one year and one year and a half to repair. Usually they are better 3-6 months after the acoustic trauma. But 8 - 12 months after they will be a lot better.
    cspc
I suggest vitamin b-complex, omega 3, vitamin d, iron and magnesium (from supplements or from food)
regenerating hair cells won't be enough. I mean how to treat this stupid ear fullness???
My tinnitus is still Here after officially 5 months. And it is Always the same in intensity.I am still scared of losing hearing. Best
    H
How are you doing mentally? Are you having moments where you're not thinking of tinnitus?
    Apolonia
Mentally I am in a much better place. I have accepted my condition and I don't feel damaged like I used to.I now know that this is forever and I made peace with it. I just hope it stays the way it is and IT doesn't get worse.
    H
I'm with you. I'm near 4 months in and have also accepted it over the past few weeks. I think this has helped me have moments where I don't hear it or think about it. It's still there, but not right there.
If we get tinnitus, do we lose that absolute hearing that is necessary for playing the violin? I had a perfect hearing as a teenager.
    TheDanishGirl
Learning to play the violin has always been my dream.....guess I have to give that up now :( violin sound right next to one's ear : BIG NO GO with tinnitus and H.
    Apolonia
I played the violin before. With H it is hard but I don't think with tinnitus it is hard. If you don't have problems with sound distortions you should be able to hear the sounds. My question was more : Have I lost that sensibility for the pure sounds...
    Apolonia
Bc when I hear someone playing the violin I can still discern how pure the sounds are... I still feel like I have it in me despite the tinnitus....
I have noticed that after exercise my ears feel better. T is still there but I don't notice IT and there is no pain. I feel normal.
    Autumnly
Maybe due to better / more blood circulation? I know several people that say working out or yoga reduces their tinnitus, it's the opposite for me.
    Apolonia
Could be. However, my hearing is awful when in big rooms where voices tend to echo... I Just can't discern what People are saying.. also I can't Hear well People that are far away from me in noisy places....
Can I take two pills od ginkgo biloba per day?
Feeling aural fullness... There was a stabbing pain as well...:/ I Will try some ginger tea...
I read a story about a girl who has 15 tumors. She lost her hearing but she graduated and Works. She hopes her hearing Will come back.
    V
Did she have tinnitus along with HL?
    Apolonia
Dunno. She did not mention it... But still, even though they removed the tumor that caused hearing loss.. her hearing did not come back.
Do you have problems with locating Sounds? Like you are not sure where they come from?
    dpdx
Yeah, I dont know whether they come from head or ear.
Hm I Just read another post about a guy 28 who has killed himself bc of tinnitus. Was IT really necessary?
    Apolonia
What about People who suffer from arthritis from a very young age??? Then ,they should all kill themselves.. i have another friend who has diabetes and Got tinntius at the age of 13... He lives his life. He is a student and has not given up...
    Apolonia
I don't wanna fight.. I respect your opinion but IT still does not change me Being pissed...
    TheDanishGirl
Well, we will never agree on this, so let's just leave it at that.
Also, I hear white noise in the background that I cannot control. It is always the same no matter what I do with my body.
I am hearing this beeping that I can control with my neck. When I lower my head it appears and when I lift my head up then it goes away.
