    Neurofeedback for Tinnitus

I met with Kurtis at Alaska Neurofeedback last Friday. The total cost for 20 sessions lasting about 60 minutes each over the course of 10 weeks is $1500. I am not sure if that is standard.

So... Hearing Distortion... Anyone Else Have This?

When my T is bad it usually seems like the sound of electronics is amplified. Particularly computer fans for some reason. Could just be me obsessing, of course.

    Neurofeedback for Tinnitus

LOL. Yes he has Tinnitus. I have to say that he never told me it should be viewed as a cure. Rather as a treatment to lessen its impact.

    Neurofeedback for Tinnitus

So I spoke with the person at Alaska Neurofeedback. It was an informative conversation. The practitioner here appears to be well-qualified and also has Tinnitus. He apparently wrote his Masters thesis on the origins of Tinnitus. I have a consultation scheduled for this Friday and will post an...

    Shamrock Shakes

LOL, I have to confess I had one of these a few weeks back. I love mint. I was so surprised that they had them up here in Anchorage.

    Hi From The USA

Hi JM, welcome to the boards. I am sorry to hear about your experience with the ototoxic medications. I have T which is permanent in my right ear but sometimes becomes an all-head thing, if you will. It has been about six weeks so I am still hoping that it will subside with care but am, of...

    Neurofeedback for Tinnitus

Hi everyone, I am currently interested in what might be considered an alternative Tinnitus treatment: Neurofeedback. It is interesting because there is actually a neurofeedback center here in Anchorage, AK and I was actually able to find a few research articles which indicated significant...

    Anxiety and panic are back!

Hey Terry, I can say that I understand how you feel. For the past couple of weeks I had been doing better. This morning, I woke up and had a near panic attack.

Has having tinnitus made you give up any bad habits?

I have had to lessen my sugar and salt intake. I eat many more fruits and veggies. I used to loosely schedule my exercise for 2-3 times a week, well now it is mandatory. I used to get by on less than 7 hours of sleep but the disruption my T causes also forces me to focus on getting adequate...

    Military Corner

I didn't but I can tell you I recently learned that my older sister did. She served in Iraq in 2005-2006. I told her about the distress from my recent T and she told me she has it too. She deals with it far better than I do but I had noticed that she sleeps with the TV on and had wondered...

Has Your Tinnitus Increased and Then Decreased or Only Increased, Post Your Stories Please

So far, I've found that the longer I sleep at night the worse the T is when I wake up. As an example, I recently slept for four hours straight and woke up with the piercing dentist drill whine. I felt more rested but then had a panic attack.

    Hi All

Welcome to the site Joel. I was once an avid user of nicotine gum when I was in the process of quitting so I can relate to the periodic large nicotine intake.
